A British teacher working in Sudan has been arrested after her class voted to call a teddybear Muhammad.

    BBC News

This I have to say is just plain crazy.

British school teacher that allowed pupils to call teddy "Mohammad" arrested in Sudan

    BBC.

You must be f***ing kidding me

I try to be tolerant, but honestly, what the hell is wrong with people who's religion makes them behave so completely and utterly absurdly.

We'll have to remember to simply arrest any pupils wearing sheets on their heads in UK schools when it is against uniform policy (is that offensive calling the head scarf's "sheets"? good, **** it).

Doesn't have to be religion. It can be any cultural norm held in high regard. Singapore is a very secular nation that will kill you for carrying a mere half ounce of reefer.

same story as in my post

It's totally crazy, how this can be seen as an insult I do not understand.

Radical beliefs lead to radical a actions. I wish this teacher the best and I hope she leaves the country as soon as she can. I am lucky that the radical. Christians haven't gained the right to arrest atheists here in the United States.

Hopefully the UK is able to get her out of the country before any ridiculous and scarring punishment takes place.

Never mind people being raped, their homes burned, and their children chopped up with Machetes, or the millions of AIDS/HIV cases a teacher got arrested? Okay, send in the troops NOW its completely out of hand.

I don't think anyone was recommending we send in troops anywhere.

We're reacting to a dumb punishment for something that shouldn't even be a crime. I also fail to see how because we're outraged by this, it is impossible for us to be outraged by the other things you have listed.

So, it's blasphemy to name a cute, stuffed animal loved by all Mohammed, but it's ok to name at least one of their male children Mohammed?

Right on! Kill lots more people! Let's show those ragheads how decent, civilised Christians behave.

Ironically, the "teddy" in "teddy bear" is "Theodore", or "God's gift". How apt.

Won't have to. Global warming should provide a balmy 140-150 degree ambient temperature there soon enough. ;)

I see Eric's point. The situation in Darfur is awful, yet this teacher will punished for a little teddy bear name.

Come on. You know that killing, rape and looting don't offend Allah more than naming a stuffed animal after their prophet. ;)

Surely the children deserve to be punished as well? I mean, 20 of them voted for the name.

I'm stunned at some of the statements in this thread. Rather than an intelligent conversation about the situation the teacher finds herself in, people have to resort to childish name calling and racist statements. No wonder the whole damn world is going to ****.

Tolerance doesn't mean you have to like something or that you can't think it's crazy. Especially when it's above and beyond a belief and leads into an action. This is stupid, feel free to call them on it.
