Yeah, the kid is stupid, but it is an over-reaction by the Feds to ban him for life. It is not like he threatened President Obama.

President Bush was called a whole lot worse and as far as I know, no one was banned for life from coming to the United States.

This thread should be locked, least we get banned for discussing it (and I'm already here).

A ban for life is ridiculous.

Stupidity is a normal teenage state of mind.

Most of us were lucky to grow out of it.

    He probably will to.

I was going to put this in the PRSI, but I figured it was too soft a subject and put it in the current events. They moved it here anyway. Sorry!

Yeah, the kid may have threatened Obama in his email. Although I'm yet to find the text of the email. That could be why he got banned.

^Maybe, but the Secret Service take this sort of thing extremely seriously. No agent wants to stand over the grave of an assassinated president.

ROFL. The kid's an idiot, but I'm a little surprised the FBI didn't try and bundle him in the back of a Transit and ship him to Diego Garcia. Simply banning him for life leads to TERRORISM dontcha know? :D

Over reaction for sure. I guess he should have made a movie showing a look a like President getting shot.

Trying to figure out how a TV show about 9/11 led him to send an email to Obama?

On BBC (radio) news late last night, they reported it as making death threats, without being specific. And as a further development, there could be a chance he's just making it all up.

If the story broke first in The Sun, I'd doubt its veracity.

OK then. One thing we've all learned today is that you can't believe anything reported by News International, ever. They tell lies.

Should make these forums a bit quieter :)

Must have been pretty nasty. Why don't they just publish the kid's email, it'll still be in his Sent box.

And what was the reason for it I wonder - did he send Bush and Blair emails too, or just Obama because.. he implemented health care or what?

I'm sure the president was woken by the Chief of Staff, interrupted in the Situation Room or received a yellow post-it note in his nightly briefing, to be told about a credible threat to his life from a 17 year old in Silsoe who allegedly called him a prick.

Bet you he probably didn't get the news until much later, if at all. Far more bigger fish to fry.
