Is there any way to tell mail.app to not mark every message as read? Even if I try to browse my messages using the arrows, mail marks them as read! wtf? Can I tell mail.app to mark them only if I've been reading the message for 5 seconds or more? I Cant find the damn configuration for that and it's driving me nuts.

I usually use mutt.. yes, I ssh to my server.. but I wanna use mail.app more, the problem is that this behavior is driving me crazy.

if you drag the divider between the email ist and the email text all the way down your messages will not be marked read. however, you will not be able to read them in 4.3 seconds as there is no email text part in mail.app left. if you double-click on a mail, a new window will open containing the message, and the mail will be marked as read in .01s.
