I just installed a TEMPO RAID 133 and I'm a bit disappointed about the speed.
I have two 80 GB 7200 segeat barracudas in stripe mode connected to the card. They can reach alone sustained read/write speeds of +/- 55, 60 MB/sec and as a RAID-0 (stripe) I was expecting to achieve something around 100 MB/sec, but instead I'm getting 75 MB/sec.
Do you know if there is any firmware update or anything else that can be done to correct this? I'm using OS 10.3.4 on a G4 single 800 Mhz.
I tried OS 10's software RAID-0 but the results were even worst.
    The support just answered me:
"I'd assume there is always going to be some controller overhead slowing things down. And your data rates will vary from machine to machine. Who knows how Rob of BareFeats configured his machine. Your setup might not be identical to his. Safe to say, you are getting increased speed so everything is working."
regarding my complaint that there were better results with the same card in the web (BareFeats for example)

Isn't there really anything that can be done ? Any suggestions?
