I saw the advertisement that Apple is offering a $50 gift card with most phones and other devices purchased between 11/25- 11/28.
Does anyone know, from past experience, if someone like me who just bought a phone two days ago (and of course will still be within the return window on 11/25) could walk in and ask for this gift card since I just made a purchase?

Alternatively I know I could return the phone and buy a new one right there on the spot to claim the card- and I'm sure they know that is available to me as well- so I was curious if for that reason, they would extend the offer if I went in and asked?

I feel silly and appear entitled even thinking about going in to ask, so I thought I'd see what any of you may have experienced in years' past with these sorts of offers. :)

Thanks!

You didn't mention which device you bought but, if the $50 is worth your time to go in a ask for the gift card or possibly have to return the device and re-purchase (if they even have another device to sell you) then why not give it a shot. If it's a Pro or Pro Max be prepared to wait till after Christmas fo your new phone

Ah, yeah that would help. I bought an iPhone 13 Mini, so roughly $600.... the $50 would be nice, but doesn't make a huge dent in the overall cost of the phone.
The store is only about a 15 minute drive from my house, and we are in that area for other shopping once in a while anyway, so I might stop in during that window and ask.

You'll likely will need to return that one and then get a new one on that day to qualify to get the gift card.

I was wondering about that... and at that point I'll have to really think about whether it's worth it or not. And, I would feel a bit slimy like I am gaming the system doing that- I have already taken advantage of Apple's generous return policy enough with a few returns as I was trying to find the right phone over the last couple of months.

I agree. They’re not going to honour a gif card for a device bought outside of that window even if it’s still within the return window. The only way to get the gift card is to return the phone and buy another new one.

If it were me, I’d just set up the return & order a new phone both on 11/25. Once the return is “Set up” you have I think 14 days to send it in, and the replacement will be there well within that timeframe.

I’m in the same boat as the op with similar reservations and history of benefiting from Apple’s good customer service.

I purchased a 13 mini on Monday and my return window ends January 8th, so I was considering buying a second 13 mini on the 25th and returning the first one at my leisure after I use quick set up. I was also considering calling customer service to tell them of this plan and see if they would offer me the gift card anyhow, but I’m more inclined to just call it a day, especially since the 13 mini was such a good fair price this year.

You can definitely return and rebuy to get that $50 gift card. The downside is they may not have what you want in stock and you'd have a long wait to get your phone again. Not worth the time and effort to me at least.

This isn't always true. A friend bought a Mac just before the Back to School promotion was announced, and they were able to call Apple and get the special deal without having to do a return.

Just call Apple while the promotion is ongoing. I would not expect anyone in the store to be able to do anything except take a return on the phone you have. Phone support will probably just offer you the gift card without having to send the phone back.

Yeah, same thought here.
It’s a bit of a pain switching devices- I’m not worried about supply as my local stores all have every color and capacity on the minis- but with the good price it’s at now, and the $20 off I got on a corporate discount, I may ask them about the card- but likely won’t try doing an exchange.
