iPod touch The difference?

How will I know the difference if I buy a new 32 gb touch? I am going to go buy one somewhere when the stores get them (hopefully Friday at the Apple store) but will there be any way to make sure I am get the updated 32 gb one? When I talked to the Apple store tonight the lady said that it was the same thing as the old one with a different price, and when I told her that they got a new processor and updates she was like "Oh? Well I guess we don't have that in yet." So I'm not really counting on them to know what they are talking about! And it will be even worse if I buy it somewhere else..
