1. those that ordered later than then first 5 - 10 minutes will be getting their watches earlier.
2. those with later shipment dates are getting their watches earlier.

THAT'S WHAT'S ******** UP. not the fact that, "oh, apple didnt promise" or "date range" or "oh. holy apple did no wrong. dont chastitise the weak victim"

you want transparency? instead of, "hey, we're letting our execs dress nice and talk to journalists now", how about "let us inform our customers exactly what the process is and what is to be expected?". how about that huh?

and instead of that stupid email, start telling customers, "hey, we stuffed up (surprise!). you'll be getting it xxxx (based on our years of supply chain control)"

Just because Apple may or may not be over-delivering on other orders does not mean they should or can do for yours. You are acting irrationally entitled.

An update, I just found that a UPS shipping label and tracking number was created about 5 minutes ago for the watch order that I received the EOD on.

Hang in there, I don't think the email is the kiss of death!

You have that for both orders? even the processing one?

summary: people are displeased not because its not shipping on the 24th but the fact that others with later shipment dates are getting shipment notifications earlier.

Ah, gotcha. I guess we have to wait and see if any "line cutting" actually occurred. Obviously these claimed violations are all speculative as nobody has received anything really material yet. The next few weeks will either embarrass a lot of people on here, or enrage them to new heights.

The delivery window was duly noted when we placed our orders.

I was still kinda hoping Apple pulled it out of the bag though.

Fact is no one officially has received any type of shipping conformation. It's all from ups and their movement. If you are basing who's getting it first off of that, you are wrong. Wait for apple to send official shipping emails.

no. if you lined up to enter a cinema early and the theater owner ushered in a dozen people behind you to let them in ahead of everyone else, that's not right.

i feel entitled to an earlier shipment because i put in the effort to pre-order early, as many others have and is feeling.

I agree 100%

I'm fairly sure its not as simple as that. What if the cinema had two different types of seats and had two queues, one for people who ordered one type of seats and another queue for the other. If queue A was full but the cinema found they had more seats come available for queue B, should they not allow the people in queue B to have a seat, even though someone in queue A may still be waiting?

My laborious example was there to highlight that there are a huge number of Apple Watch models that you *didn't* order, that are also being manufactured and have people waiting for them. If Apple can fulfil some of them, why shouldn't they?

That's just one example. Pick it apart all you like I'm simply saying that none of us can really comprehend the complexity of manufacturing and shipping at Apple's scale, and when all it comes down to is getting your shiny gadget a day or two later than hoped, I think getting angry and calling for heads to roll is indeed acting irrationally entitled.

But what about people with same exact model shipping before you, I was confirmed at :01 42 SS BSB, plenty after have received prepared to ship, I got EOD.

I think we should wait until tomorrow around this time before we really complain or worry or freak out. The wait sucks but keep your expectations neutral and secretly hope for the best.

Really? You ordered a backup watch in case the watch you really wanted didn't make it by launch day? Wow...

Yes, since I will be heading out of the country on 4/30 and would like to have the watch for the trip. These are my wife's and my anniversary gifts (this weekend) to each other, so yes it would be nice for both of us to have them.

And since we couldn't actually see/try the watches before needing to order (and get them in a reasonable amount of time), I ordered my first and second choice. I know I can find someone to see the other one to. (And I won't sell it for profit)

What your order status?

The problem I have is there are many people who ordered within a couple of minutes into pre-orders and received 4/24-5/8.

Soon after they're receiving emails for developer promotions by late April and watching 4-6 week shipments arriving.

There's a difference between irrationally entitled and a mess of a launch that is unorganized and rather unfair

If Apple can fulfil some of them, why shouldn't they?

that's a bad example because in that instance, both movies are mutually exclusive.

in a manufacturing process, you share resources, most materials, and work force. when you allocate resources to one, you neglect the other. so, again, no.

for my wife's no email yet. Mine is fine (42 sport grey)
Hers is still processing (38 sport pink)
She ordered at 12:02
AZ/Cali Time

I am also fairly confident that they will ship out tomorrow, only because it's been like that for my past launch purchases. All have been via next day air. And the carriers are contractually obligated to hold shipment until the release date (I work for one of them).

I'd say that if you don't see an email or movement by tomorrow night, you should start worrying. However, it has happened in the past that email tracking is sometimes delayed from the actual shipment, especially a large one. So, really, the time to freak out would be Friday afternoon.

It's only two more days. I know that seems like an eternity, but it'll be here very soon.

For everyone whining and complaining: your place in line is also based off your geographic location and the availability within that geographic region.

Just because you may have placed your order 2 minutes before someone else when there are one million orders taking place in a 10-min timeframe in several different countries doesn't mean that you'll get your watch first. Relax. Apple will deliver it to you within the window they provided.

In what way is it unfair? I started refreshing both the Apple Store app and Apple Store website at 2:45 AM and spent the next 15 minutes doing this. At 3:00 AM the app let me add the watch I wanted to my cart. I got all the way to the checkout page and when I clicked the Apple Pay button it went back to the "store is down" message. So I had to refresh and go thru the same process again. By 3:01 I had a confirmation email saying my order was processing. I've been preparing to ship for two days, have a UPS tracking number for a Friday delivery, and never got any email. I was prepared and my work paid off.

So again, how is this unfair? If people with 3:04 order times want to whine and pout because their order is still processing, maybe they should have ordered three minutes faster. If people are upset because a different model is shipping earlier than theirs, maybe they should have ordered that model. If people who are still at processing are that hurt because they were promised a two week window for delivery and they mistakenly assumed that meant 4/24 instead of 5/8, they can still cancel their orders. I'm sure someone else would love to get their watch sooner.

In what way is the launch a mess? We are still over a day away from orders being delivered. Come the end of Friday, it could turn out that Apple managed to process and ship 3 million watches to countries around the world in the two weeks from pre-order to launch day. What would constitute that as a mess? Because they somehow weren't able to manufacture enough watches to get one into the hands of every single person on the first day of their promised two week launch window? That overnight they managed to become the market leader in a product category they have never had a product in before? That they managed to add hundreds of millions of dollars to their bottom line before a product was even in the hands of consumers?

no. when you schedule a simultaneous launch in selected countries, there should not be geographical segregation.

this is, of course, assuming that apple will sideline ROI maximisation to satisfy customers. HA HA.

"hey guys, chill out man, your boat will come soon enough *rides off on a boat*"

Well, my order was :01, SS BSB 42, and I won't get on launch based on EOD, while many who ordered after me will. But you're right, maybe I should have ordered faster.
