The Glenn doth protest too much?

Why would someone need to preemptively declare they are not into child pornography? Isn't that something that should be assumed unless proof otherwise exists?

I think Glenn knows that someone is going to uncover something really shady about him in the coming months, and he needed to say this now so is loyal followers would refuse to believe any evidence that may come out about his behavior.

I figure it will only be a matter of time before Glenn is caught with a male prostitute, like so many men on the right.

Beck is a douche, but considering the made up stories that have passed for near fact on left wing sites about Beck "murdering a girl," spreading lies about child pornography isn't out of the realm of possibilities. There's nothing more socially stigmatizing than applying that particular label.

As far as actually talking about it on the air, it is a bit awkward.

Well, he did say he is with a man, or a group of men, at all times.

You do realize that everyone that says that is using it as a joke, right? It is satirizing Beck by doing something he does very often, which is accuse somebody of something, and make them disprove something that never happened. Nobody really thinks Glenn Beck murdered and raped a girl in 1990, but he is unable to prove that he didn't. That's the whole joke.

Ummm...I don't ever listen to Glenn Beck...is it really always that insane? Because I have a horror film I want to make. I just want to make sure I don't get sued.

Excuse me. That was the most insane BS rant I've ever heard. He is absolutely out of his mind. I could literally not make that s***up.

He can dish it, but it appears he can't take it. It's pathetic that he feels the need to convince himself he's a "good" guy.

I love a good rape joke. The only thing funnier is a fake rape allegation.

Umm...really? Come on. Now you guys are just getting stupid trying to defend this absolute moron. Amazing that you would take a satirical piece that had a point to make and take it seriously.

I'll try asking again, but this time with only five words.

    Where did I defend Beck?

I quoted it. If you weren't defending him, you were certainly trying to deflect attention from the issue at hand, rather than addressing it.

    But hey- carry on.

I'll defend him. This fake rape attack/accusation is baseless and ridiculous. Completely unfounded... everyone pay close attention, this is essentially the quality of all content coming from Media Matters.

The witch hunt is in full swing.

BTW, if I spent an entire week exposing George Soros, I'd be worried too.

Whew. Thanks for letting me carry on, Lee. For a moment there I was nervous I'd be locked in some sort of Inception-like limbo.

    Where did I defend Beck?

Oh my God. Seriously FP? The ENTIRE point of the fake rape attack/accusation was that it was baseless and ridiculous, but also that it was unfounded and IMPOSSIBLE to refute. JUST LIKE MANY OF THE ACCUSATIONS GLENN BECK MAKES! Thus the irony! Thus the point.

Wow and they say fruit cake is dense.

I'm not sure why you bring Media Matters into this, but Media Matters sources its information. If you can prove any of it is false or lies, feel free to do so. My guess is you will have as much luck proving that as you will proving that the flat tax proposals from Cato or FreedomWorks include proposals to eliminate every other form of taxation.

Reference for the "rape and murder" gag:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f26tqqbvj3M

A few people watching that roast noticed how similar this bit is to one of Beck's favorite sleazy moves, the "I'm not saying X, but a lot of people are, and it's curious how Y has never denied or disproven X."

No one was ever actually meant to have thought Glenn Beck raped and murdered a girl in 1990, and I don't think I've ever bumped into anyone who took it seriously, but if a few dim bulbs actually do, well, then frankly that just makes the joke that much more on-the-nose.

Reading is fundamental. FOR THE LAST TIME:

If you weren't defending him, you were most certainly deflecting attention from the issue at hand, rather than addressing it.

Or do I have to write this again?

Lee, it's ok to say you were wrong in Post No. 13. It's character building.

I thought you were trying to deflect attention away from Glenn Beck too, but I didn't say anything because you might have just been trying to be ironic. If so, you could say you weren't defending Beck instead of attacking Lee for mistaking your intent.
