The basis for the article seems lacking and uninformed given Gingrich admitted he missed the 10,000 signature mark due to fraud that he had previously been unaware of.

Geez, can't you take it for what it was, a partisan hack attack and laugh at it? If you want to start a serious thread, create one showing that Gingrich's Virginia operation was more corrupt than ACORN.

    From the link:

So? I've never worked on a campaign, but even I know that you go way, way over the number of signatures you need, precisely because of stuff like this. That, and people whose signatures are invalid because their address doesn't match voter records, or they've been removed from the rolls, or whatever.

It does sound like what the pundits have said, a lack of organization on the Gingrich campaign's part.

Peter North wouldn't have made that mistake.

In fact, he probably would've overshot his target. ;)

    :no **** Sherlock:

    Oh, that's not an emoticon?

I'm not sure what you thought you had there.

What was the point of reiterating what the article stated and we all knew to begin with?

That rdowns wanted to take a cheap money shot at Gingrich, and apparently hasn't heard that he'd consider Sarah Palin as a VP? Pity, too, I was looking forward to the daily "we hate Palin" threads around here.

As a candidate for an upper tier political office, can one really expect underlings to not also engage in fraud? Do as I say, not as I do? (Note: all politicians of all stripes are being defamed by this.)

As a republican, I'm ecstatic that Palin probably won't get the VP nod. She typifies the worst of fake, folksy populism that I abhor. I've never heard her speak intelligently on an issue, and I'm not just saying that because of her accent; she seems lost in ordinary conversation. Say what you will about Romney's moderate-ness, at least we know he's a brilliant individual who succeeded in business. I'll take that any day over someone who I believe would listen to whichever advisor is in her closest proximity without being able to critically evaluate an issue.

Further proof he's not fit to be president.

It's more than that, Gingrich has been hoisted on his own petard. In 2008, he decried the activities of ACORN for voter fraud, but his own campaign failed precisely because of the same thing. While ACORN had a fraud rate of about 1.5 percent, Gingrich's campaign was 13 percent.

If we applied the same standards that Fox News and others used against ACORN, both Perry and Gingrich should be in a load of trouble.

A bit of hyperbole since there was only one thread on Palin, when she complained about the White House Christmas card.

I think so. Palin didn't become the discussion until Corvus brought her up.
