So the GOP picks this guy to lead the Environment and Public Works Committee. If by some chance a Republican President is elected in 2016 and still run the senate and house, then get ready for a free for all, and he will also lead the Environmental Protection Agency.

The Environmental Protection Agency head is a presidential appointee.

My mistake, corrected. They all sound the same to me. They appointed him to lead Environment and Public Works Committee, but if a Republican ends up winning 2016 election, he will lead the Environmental Protection Agency.

    Lead the Environmental Protection Agency?

They'll probably get rid of the the Environmental Protection Agency.

It just gets in the way.

Environment and Public Works? Hmmm, what might Public Works include? Perhaps a big metal thing for to pump oil out of the country?

How do nutjobs like this get elected??? I feel sorry for the people of Oklahoma.

Inhofe is a moron if he truly, TRULY believes that climate change is a hoax.

No surprise here.... Let's take a look at the top five industries that funded him:

Oil & Gas, Retired, "Leadership" PACs (Koch), Electric utilities, and Lobbyists. LINK

Putting him in charge of the Environment and Public Works committee is like putting Bernie Madoff in charge of the Federal Reserve.

Feel sorry for them? They elected him.

I feel sorry for people like you and me who have to live in the same country with the nut jobs that put him in office.

    The Greatest Hoax.

The last time we let that recklessness happen, we got fracking...

...and we'll be paying the price for generations.

My mom not only thinks global warming is a hoax, but she thinks the popular scientific consensus says that it's not actually happening. She actually said only a few think it's actually happening when it's literally the opposite.

That is just soul crushingly depressing. My own mother. This is what the right and Fox News does to old people in this country. :(

97% of climate scientists agree global climate change is man-made.

But hey, that link goes to NASA. What do they know, right ?

Based on what exactly, denial? That's quite a low bar for being "smart". I find it most disturbing when Republican's placed in positions of authority put religious fundamentalists into scientific positions just so they can trash sound scientific policies sometimes based on the Bible... Irresponsible, Inexcusable.

230 is what percent of 2500

You do know who fracking works, right? By using high pressure to crack the shale and release the natural gas. Naturally, when the pressure is removed all that rock collapses in on itself. Thus, you get an small earthquake. The same thing happens when abandoned mine shafts collapse (except those sometimes collapse all the way to the surface; not good if your house happens to be built over an old mineshaft.

2,500 earthquakes and 90% of them you wouldn't know occurred unless you had a seismograph, and the other 10% you might feel if you were laying on bed on a quiet night.

My description of the fracking process is accurate. You replied with a complete non sequitur, leading one to believe that you are ignorant of the fracking process and are just cutting & pasting from Russia Today because you liked the headline. Is that it?

Might want to actually check those links instead of assuming things.

Oh look, here's another one: http://www.npr.org/2014/07/31/336765936/is-fracking-to-blame-for-increase-in-quakes-in-oklahoma
