All I know is that I refuse to listen to ads while listening to music. Especially since I go more for AOR (album oriented rock) which would ruin the experience. Don't they understand why music sucks these days?

ads between songs? more of them??!! *shudder* He has got to be kidding me. I would pay through the nose to avoid having to be subjected to ads left right and center (I kind of already do--I hardly ever download music from an online service, even itunes. I only have a few songs, like less than 20 individual songs I wanted to get a good feel for. that's it. everything else I have the cd/record, 'specially since I'm actually rather fond of the full artwork and sleeve notes. was weaned on Sergeant Pepper's, lol And I have, exactly, ZERO, illegally downloaded stuff--see above for reason :)).

Seriously though, I see digital music players like the ipod as the early 21st century version of the Walkman tape and CD player, like one guy in the comments says, it's a personal stereo. I didn't put up with the bloody ads when I was 9 listening to my badly made mix-tapes (gawd it took me a lot of sweat to get those done! lol), I'm not about to give up on ad-free music that easily. I mean seriously, there you are getting all broody listening to People Are Strange or something and after the last couple notes, when you're still absorbed in the music you get an ad for toilet-bowl cleaners or summat. Way to ruin the moment!

Does the writer of that article even really like music much?!

/rant over. very late here, tired and a short fuse :)
