The Hotmail POP server “pop3.live.com” rejected the password for user

    I get this message all the time with my Hotmail account in the Mail app. I have to enter my password and all is fine. This pops up SO much though. It's very annoying, is there anything I can do?

    i get that message as well and i haven't found a fix for it but what i do is just hit cancel and a few minutes later it will automatically begin retrieving email from that account until, of course, it asks for your password again and you have to start all over. i used to enter my password all the time before as well but it just doesn't remember it and i got tired of opening 1password all the time to retrieve the password.

    Set the time between email checks to greater than 30 minutes; that seems to reduce the error quite a bit.
