New York Post
It was going to happen sooner or later. North Korea will be 'seen to' in a couple of years.
This will seem controversial if you take it the wrong way but I enjoy experiencing how wars evolve and the war itself. The amount of force available, the logistics, the tactics its all a bit... exciting.
Yes i know people are dying out there but its the machines and seeing their capabilities in action, not the death and destruction that excites me. A slight contradiction i know but what can you do?
*This does not mean I condone war. Or wish it to happen. It means I like Command and Conquer and Age of Empires.
Same fantasy as the invasion of Iraq.
FYI (The author may well know this information, even though he chooses to conveniently ignore it.)
Ethnic groups: Persian 51%, Azeri 24%, Gilaki and Mazandarani 8%, Kurd 7%, Arab 3%, Lur 2%, Baloch 2%, Turkmen 2%, other 1%
Religions: Shi'a Muslim 89%, Sunni Muslim 9%, Zoroastrian, Jewish, Christian, and Baha'i 2%
Languages: Persian and Persian dialects 58%, Turkic and Turkic dialects 26%, Kurdish 9%, Luri 2%, Balochi 1%, Arabic 1%, Turkish 1%, other 2%
Same dangerous fantasy. No doubt the Iranians will respond with immense gratitude as their standard of living plummets and they find themselves unable to feed and transport themselves.
Got to look out for those Lurs and Balochi, that's for sure!
Illegal, me thinks.
Now where have I heard that claim before?
i guess we never learn from the past.
(including italy in 43, which had two years of civil war until 45...)
That's what happens when you're freed from a fascist dictator.
please do us the favor of indicating opinion pieces as such, plus properly designing a thread title. the new york post did not, in fact, attack iran, in either sense of the ambiguity.
what did happen is that a conservative author wrote an opinion piece about an attack on iran. this should have 1) been made clear in the title, and 2) been at least partially quoted in the message body so we wouldn't have to guess what was going on.
Then it might happen here...
No, it's probably best to dismiss information that isn't convenient to one's assumptions.
Not when a country does it themselves with help. Like the US did against Britain. Or if it's justifiable with a consensus. Like against Germany when Hitler was doing his thing.
Had we waged the Iraq and Afghanistan wars better, we'd be cheering right now.
Are you saying that I sucked you into this thread by resorting to unethical tactics in order to gain your undivided attention?
no, i'm saying you wrote a misleading thread subject. only "iran" is correct.
It all depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. - William Jefferson Clinton
"Whatever you do, don't mention the war." -- Basil Fawlty
That's the first time I've ever seen you use Caps.
If only Barbara Bush had used one, we wouldn't be in all this trouble.
LOL..they prolly dont make one that big.
