Face the facts? Fact: We were losing 700,000 a MONTH when he took office. Last month we lost what, 40,000 jobs? We're on the right track. The economy isn't going to recover in a year or two, like Obama said when he took office. Give it some more time. We're already seeing little glimmers of hope.

    And it's President Obama. ;)

That's interesting... now see more accurate data, not counting the temporary census workers Obama used to pad the stats:

So the number of jobs plummeted during the final year of the Bush administration, went down a bit more in the months after Obama was inagurated, before any of his policies were passed and had time to take effect, and started trending back up towards the end of 2009. What's your point?

Oh brother. Unemployment (and the economy) is cyclical. Getting slightly better for a month isn't a recovery. Plus, total unemployment RIGHT NOW is the worst that it has ever been. The quarterly unemployment numbers don't take into account underemployment (people that have given up looking for work and are taking a part-time job.)

Speaking of which, I was laid off in early 2009 by FedEx, who made the decision to lay off people BECAUSE Obama was elected president. They knew that things were about to get very worse, and were pre-empting the flatlining of our economy.

I love how the White House supplied Chart is so clean and simple to read. Red for BAD, horrible, downward spiraling times. Blue for GOOD, soothing, soaring times. So simple. Nice and symmetrical.

Pure unadulterated propaganda. Both sides are guilty of it and it has become unendurable by the American electorate, hence the upheaval we are beginning to witness.

However, as a wise man once said, facts are stubborn things. And data from most other sources all correlate to tell one story, there has been no recovery to speak of. Unemployment, colorful charts for the lemmings not withstanding, is now double what it was during Bush's tenure and that is only the doctored, perfumed figure they release to the public. The true unemployment figure is much much worse.

By all means though...enjoy the pretty colors...red, bad...blue, good...mmmm...colors...so simple...so easy to understand...ignorance is strength...

Please provide factual evidence that the charts are not reflecting the reality. Else just shut up.

This should be interesting since Steve Jobs believes in exceptionalism and obama believes in socialism. He is the greatest threat to liberty and freedom that America has ever seen.

In the beginning many college students and the youth in general wrote off the socialist angle by proclaiming that people were simply racists. Now that obama’s policies are taking shape, this same demographic is finally awakening. So if you don’t mind paying more for your utility bill than you do for your car payment, go ahead and stay at home and not vote.

    IMHO of course ~

straight from government docs - not filtered thru huge media networks.

www.infowars.com - just a start. there are others but don't want to overwhelm :) plus it's fun discovering truth on your own.

The first headline I saw under that link was "Forced Abortion: Dream of the Scientific Elite", and there are section headings entitled "Big Brother" and "Medical Tyranny".

Perhaps it would be better to say 'discovering your own truth' :p

lol believe what you want. most people are too afraid to admit what's happening to the country while we're all distracted with tv, moveis, music, technology and sex. most want to stay in their "everything is just fine" bubble

There is nothing that he is doing that is unconstitutional. Nothing. The idea of making the Tenth Amendment forbid federal aid to education, or the income tax, or health care reform, is a very radical conservatism which hasn't been loose in this country for at least 70 years, or perhaps since the Confederacy.

The quest to be an independent thinker is a never-ending one for all of us. The fact that you are taking my post so personally isn't my fault as your name is mentioned nowhere in it.

Well, you can go here. That's the DOL's own numbers. You could also Google a simple chart on the U-3 unemployment rate over the last 10 years (though the U-6 is the one that really matters). You could also go here. That's an article from April on the matter from the Wall Street Journal. Notice that the rate is unchanged.

Or you could just tell them to shut up too. Either way.
