This is one thing that none of the reviewers are testing. Early results are showing speeds 2 to 2.5x faster than last years X. Post your results in this thread so we can get some idea on just how much faster the new modem is .

I'll add my test when it arrives, Went with Xs Max 256gb gold and i'm with Bell in Canada (one of the fastest carriers in Canada), My current 7 Plus currently gets 130mbps down / 25 up at my house with 2 to 3 bars of reception.

Can't wait to test!

Im also with Bell, im just waiting on UPS now to get the phone and start testing!

Thanks !!!
Here’s the test , not bad considering mid day traffic I’ll have to come back at night and see how it does then, my 7 Plus during the day got 70mbps down and 6 up usually

It has still been hit or miss. In that location though, it is probably two and a half times faster. I also just got the carrier update pushed to my phone, so that my help.

Faster speeds should be expected with the addition of 4x4 mimo let modem.

What will be important is a test of the intel antenna vs Qualcomm antenna in low signal areas. I would be very interested to see speed test between old iPhones and android phones in low signal coverage areas (I.e. areas where you use to have spotty service)

For what it’s worth I had two bars when doing that test I just posted.

Verizon in downtown LA. Never been overly great. But about the same as before for me.

Hope that 5G Home Service they are installing on the first is better.

I bet it's 10 years before we see any 5G or even fake 5G in my area so you are very lucky :)

On my iPhone X at work I got

92.1 MB Download
31.1 MV Upload

first time on the XS max

119MB Download
32.4 Upload

this is on the EE network. The best speeds I get are generally at work.
