OBJECTIVE reality
Hey, all you homosex-you-all types. You know y'all are living a sinful life. But wait, there is hope!

On the October 11 broadcast of Today's Issues, a program on the Christian broadcasting network American Family Radio (AFR), Rev. Lou Sheldon, chairman and founder of the conservative "church lobby" group Traditional Values Coalition (TVC), suggested that Christian therapists believe exorcism is the only effective technique that can "release" a person from the homosexual lifestyle. During a conversation with host Tim Wildmon, president of the AFA, about the so-called "homosexual agenda," Sheldon claimed that he had consulted with "many psychotherapists who are Christian, and they say once you enter into that [homosexual] lifestyle ... once you enter into the culture, into the music, into the gay bars, into the gay literature, into the gay theater ... and gay travel ... you have really put yourself into a groove that only a sort of an exorcism can release you from."
Okay, maybe I wouldn't feel the same way if I were gay myself, but I find that so ridiculous it's hilarious. This guy should be writing for The Onion...or maybe he could be a preacher at Landover Baptist Church.

I think the only thing funnier is the idea of all those gay folks tied to beds with their heads spinning, spewing pea soup.

Huh, I was at a party at one of gay friends' houses a couple of weeks ago.

I liked the music.

I liked the drinks they were serving.

I envied their recent travel experiences.

I guess I need to be exorcised before I *gasp* become one of them.

The Antipodes.
Prognosis

It seems I'll be consigned to the firey pit, but at least I'll be with all my friends. The prognosis for a successful reassignment was negative according to my psychotherapist.

I believe that gay fashion is part of gay culture, not gay travel.

Although I do envy my gay friends' taste in clothing too.

I'm really in trouble.

I like to joke that I must be a lesbian trapped in a man's body. Must be all the lesbian's I've been around. All 1 of them. Maybe I know more of them than I realize.

Oh, and... shut up Lou.

While they're at it, why don't they preform excorcisms (excercize?) on all those sinfull people that are having *gasp* premarital sex, everyone who practices a non-western religion (maybe even those damn catholics too), and all those idiots who are inexbicablly making God-like Bush's approval ratings go down?

What on earth is gay travel?
Some of my friends travel to gay-friendly resorts and stay in gay-friendly hotels. Hotels in particular, seem to be very important as many will not allow two men to share a bed... I don't blame my friends one bit for being a bit discriminating -- it's their holiday, their hard-earned money.

I think Gay travel is referring to tours and trips that have hedonistic values according these holy rollers. Gay cruises with all that sex going on. Trips to P-Town with all that sex going on. Leather/Levi/Bear club weekends with all that sex going on.

So I know see the problem is with sex. Then why not attack Str8's that go on cruises for sex? Or head out to Ocean City MD for sex? Or clubs like the Power Exchange that have weekends of sex?

IMO it is envy (one of the deadly sins) that is driving some crazy about Gays. Why envy? Because regardless of the over all income level of the Gay population, they can have greater disposable income to enjoy life by. We have no children for the most part. So by some accounts we automatically have an extra $100-200K worth of spending power, since that is the cost of raising a child through 18 yo IIRC. Add to that we don't have to concern ourselves with college costs.

So why is sex a seemingly a great part of being Gay? It could be the marginalizing the self worth of the Gay community. Without hope of legal recognition of same sex unions, there is little need socially for Gays to try to "mate for life". And given the divorce rate for Str8's, it seems that they can't get things right either.

Just some random thoughts....

No str8's put a Cassanova of a captain on board and call it The Love Boat where it's an all-day-and-all-night love fest -- between men and women of course. And it's all OK as long as its 'between a man and a women'.
