The realistic chance of picking up a iPhone 7 Plus in store this Friday?

Ok, honestly:

What does anyone think the chances of picking one up in store this Friday? With or without camping. Let's say I go morning of...what are the chances? With many people bashing this years iPhone and such, will there really be that less of people trying to get one? I just want to get a feel for what people think. I know certain stores will be busy but HOW busy? I also know it depends on stock and such but I've heard of people in the past walking in and grabbing what they want. I mean with people having it shipped to them and such do less people go right to store? We are on the 7th iPhone now so I'd like stories from years past and how it worked for some people. I just want to know if its worth it to take my chances. I realize stock and the way different areas around the world take care of launch day is ALWAYS different but I wanted some opinion.

I'd say it depends on the color. Jet Black is likely going to be harder to find because the manufacturing yields are rumored to be lower than the other models.
 
For the iPhone 6 which was a MONSTER release - I simply walked into my Telco at opening time and got one - I expect to do the exact same, at the same store, on Friday.

See, I don't expect this to be as large as the 6. Which has me thinking chances are BETTER than maybe some of the previous years.
 
How about VZW store? If mine doesn't ship for launch day, I really want to get one in store. I plan on getting there around 6 before they open at 8. What does everyone think, good chance of getting a 128GB Plus in matte black?
 
Depends on what color you want. Obviously Jet Black is going to be slim all the way around. Rose gold/gold/silver probably less so.

I have two jet black 7+ on preorder but I plan to call around Friday at 9:00 AM to see if any stores in my area got any in. I'll cancel my preorder and just pick up in store if that's the case.
 
Everything depends on inventory and none of us know what that will be. They may not even have but a few phones on Friday morning.

Like the others said if you want Jet Black . . . .good luck.
 
If you go to an Apple Store, you should be able to get Friday. Maybe not jet black, but other models should be available.
 
I am interested in this too since I am planing on waiting in front of a apple store if I can get a Jet black 7+ 256, would you all say inventory would be similar to the 6+ launch ? If I was to wait in line I would go as early as I could on thursday.
 
It's really not that hard to get one so long as you have the time and patience to wait in line. Even for the first 6 Plus launch I got what I wanted from an Apple Store. I waited in line around 10pm Thursday night. Mind you, this is not a huge city but it's still an Apple Store in a well populated area with many major cities surrounding.

To be fair, many had to wait, some as many as a month or two. Did your store not run out?

I would also like to know if I can simply go to the Apple Store in the uk and walk in on Friday and pick up a 7+ black 32gb,
According to the Apple Store site, they are opening at 8am
 
There will obviously be some store stock, but will you find the color/memory configuration you want? That is the question.

I'm hoping for a Jet Black in either 128 or 256, but may switch to the other black depending on stock.

This was my experience others can speak of their own.

There were only a few who showed up early and from what I could tell they were looking for a 6+ which my store had No stock BUT neither did the Apple Store in the same mall.
 
I guess it will depend on the configurations of your choice. My understanding is that black and jet black are in higher demand. I was not able to get either with 256gb for delivery on Sep 16 (got for 1 or 2 weeks delivery). A friend of mine had no issues in getting a black with 128gb to be delievered on launch day.
 
The carrier status's in my country says iPhone 7+ have 1 week delivery. Any Jet blacks 1-4 weeks. Everything else is "in stock".
 
It all depends on the allocation of your local store. I can still reserve through IUP a 7+ in rose gold, gold or silver for 9 am launch day so if your not picky about color or memory size you got a shot. Just go early and be patient. Or reserve one through IUP and then pay for it however you wish.
 
From past experience, if you really want the phone, be there EARLY. By EARLY I mean like 2-3 am. And you won't be first in line. You will see a bunch of people who are just buying the phone for a re-seller. Bring a folding chair. Pick a large Apple store.

Well I would go first around 10am or even earlier to see how many people are lineing up and probally come back to line up around 2-3:00 PM. If its anything like the 6/6+ launch which I lined up too at 10am there was hardly 2 people at it grew around 2:00 to like 3 more people.
 
With the caveat that I honestly have no idea, I don't think it is going to be easy to score a Plus this Friday. All plus models in all sizes and colors for basically all carriers were pushing past the original launch date within 20 minutes of going live. If that was purely due to higher than ever demand, there is no way under this sun that Apple would be, for the first time, not releasing opening weekend sales results. That tells me that between the unique process to coat the Jet Black, and the shortage of dual camera modules, there was a big-time shortage of plus models and as such, they will be in limited supply come Friday too.

I could be completely wrong, and hope I am for those trying, but it doesn't seem to add up any other way to me.
