Rush earned a salary of $66 million - $70 million last year… What did you earn? And you dare to judge him a failure? Rush has a net worth of $370 million. I wish I failed as bad as Rush.

    Wow.

You seem to want to make this really personal. Are you secretly Rush Limbaugh's best friend or something? Calm down.

Nope… I don't even listen to him. His time slot isn't convenient but you clearly stated that he is not successful. The man is a college drop out who is now worth $370 million dollars. He has got to meet the President of the United States. He can quit work tomorrow and still live a comfortable retirement.

I'm just trying to figure out how I can fail like Rush.

well if money is the only sign of success then yes. but if success is how well you are liked how well you left the world how few people hate you then no he is a failure.

Okay, tell us the signs of success. Rush Limbaugh, a college drop out has been on the radio since 1967 when he was 16 years old. He started his own show in 1984 and has been doing for the last three decades. He's made money. He's met famous people. He gets to attend all those high class parties and sporting events. He's got lots of nice toys a couple expensive houses…

I'd say he pretty successful in my book.

And the point went over your head.

I'm told that the show is widely listened to. If that was the case, why are advertisers rushing away from him in droves? Yes, he will keep going.

    Why?

Conservative groups will pay, not advertisers.

So much for his free market success.

His show would have flopped already if it was forced to go by the same Free Market principles that the right wing supposedly loves.

But his show has not flopped. It has been on the air for over three decades. Remind me again, what station can I find Air America on?

Because of think tanks wasting money on him. He brings in little to no revenue.

It isn't because people are listening in.

So they pay him $66 million plus because they just really like him?

There are a couple reasons they pay him. One of them is that, yes, they like what he has to say. Another reason is because if Rush goes under, they can't say with a straight face that Conservative Talk Radio isn't a giant failure. As long as they can afford to, they'll paying him.

And then they'll complain about how they don't have any money and need tax cuts.

Did you bother reading the article I linked to?

I'm not saying that I like the guy at all. But he is certainly an example of an American Success Story.

He is, but his show is a massive failure. And it should be allowed to just die.

    ----------

    Well, yes.

But look at the big named Conservatives (what they refer to themselves as) on talk Radio. Rush, Hannity, Mark Levin, and at one point Glenn Beck was considered big as well.

That's because it's much easier to keep an audience of idiots entertained for longer periods of time than an audience of smart people. But what does that even have to do with it? Or did you just feel the need to insert a little liberal hatred in there?

I did if you make the world a worse place to live fill it with hate and stupidity pray on peoples ignorance and fear that is not a success I would cherish. when people will want to piss on your grave it is not called success.

There are apparently a lot of people whi disagree with you across this great country. Those people have helped to make Rush the success that he is today.

Think about those people who have listened to him. Ignorance and hate is not a great thing in the US. Hate is popular and making a success out if it is not a bragging point. When he dies people will forget him like a cow patty in a field.
