I don't think he will stand a chance, but I really, really hope he defeats Hitlary in the primaries. From what I've read, he sounds like the only electable candidate on the side of the democrats.

Misantrophy is the only smart look on life.
Why is Bernie Sanders a "Christian" fascist pig?

Aren't you conservative? How the heck would you prefer Sanders to Clinton?

Bernie Sanders has zero chance of winning the nomination. Hell, he'd be luck to win a primary.

I haven't really considered the guy until someone mentioned him.
According to sources on the web he has a somewhat pro 2nd amendment voting record. He also voted against the patriot act. Twice! Since I believe that the patriot act and the circumstances sourrounding it are nothing short of a coup and everyone involved should probably face a firing squad and certainly not be considered for president, Sanders at first glance does not look so bad.
Overall he sounds like a reasonable guy, who makes some interesting points. Not like Hitlary, Dubya's little brother and many of the other gangsters.

But never forget the Golden Rule of ALL Politics, Get Elected.

As the US Presidential race is one of the most expensive undertakings in the world, and Bernie is not a billionaire or backed by billionaire PAC's, well enough said.

    Indeed. Fair point.

The most enlightened, thoughtful, intelligent, and best informed policies are of little use if you are not in a position to try to implement them, either as an electable candidate yourself, or in a position of respected influence to someone who can (and has been) proven to be electable.

    Obviously ...

Hitlary will be the next president, because people are hypnotized by the 2 party system (which in reality is one and the same party) and the opposing republican will be either a weirdo or a completely empty shell like Romney.

It's about as funny as seeing "BUSHITLER" for eight years.

A good rundown on Bernie Sanders by Vox

I think even Bernie recognizes that he doesn't have a shot winning the primary. However, I think that he believes he can help steer the debate over what the issues will be by the Democrat platform. Personally, I love Bernie Sanders and he seems to me to be one of the few active congressmen that is actually trying to make a difference instead of furthering his career. Unlike Hilary, who I believe has aspired to be President for a long time now, I think Bernie just wants good things to happen whether that is him or someone else.

I don't like the idea of Hilary being anointed the Democrat nominee. I don't really see anyone that can dethrone her from that position, but there should at least be a fight.

Ah, you're correct. I was speaking of the world beyond PSRI.

I can't believe that people are now seriously defending Hitlary.

I just did a search of PRSI looking for that term.

Other than the mentions in this thread, it was used once in 2012.

    Who are you talking about?

Neither of those two points dampen any enthusiasm I have for Sanders. I'm quite used to presidential candidates pandering to the gun crowd. Heck, I expect to see Hillary decked out in camo, shooting ducks any day now.

While he was governor, Howard Dean regularly received an "A+" rating from the NRA. Vermont is blue, but it is full of sportsmen. Politicians mess with the 2nd Amendment at their own political peril.

I'd love to see Bernie Sanders run against Rand Paul.
If that'd happen the elections might actually not be a complete disaster

They won't be a complete disaster in any case.

Someone will get elected and the world won't come to an end.

All this hyperbole is just so useless.
