Ok, Applespider got us all talking about our pet peeves...

So what makes you happy inside, makes your day, calms you down, etc, etc..

Mine:
1. Bodies of water (lakes, oceans, rivers)
2. Apple
3. Bookstores
4. Meeting someone new and finding out we have something in common
5. Late night runs to the border (that's Taco Bell, not Mexico)
6. Pugs
8. British accents (can we get audio on Macrumors and make our English friends speak their posts?) :)

I second that. I love British accents. Living in Seattle and all, I don't hear it often. :(

EDIT: Yeah, British members should just post recordings of random talking, or maybe reading something. Now that'd be cool. :)

I had a boss one time who had a British friend come in and do the message for the answering machine for the office....

I imagine that there won't be many Brits saying an American accent makes them giddy, though :D

Well, I just finished my "blood boiling" post, so now I'll try to switch gears and think about whatever good there remains in the world... Shan't be easy, but there are a few things....

1. Campfires. And camping in general.
2. Mountains.
3. My handsome gray cat.
4. Road trips.
5. Sitting down to a good dinner with a nice bottle of red vino.
6. Getting in bed at night and reading a book I've been waiting to read all day.
7. When the weather finally gets warm enough to wear sandals (around late May here in Michigan!)
8. Back to the camping theme, coming off a long backpack and having that first cold drink and good feast.

No, it's me. Alcohol makes it easier for me to say what I really want to say... I'm pretty much under control most of the time. :)

A lot of people around here who know me ask me all the time, "What do you want from life?" I've achieved most of the material goals I could reasonably expect to achieve, given what I've accomplished so far in life. All I really want right now is to find someone to settle down with... I keep hoping to find that person. Get married, have a child or two, grow old together. Sounds simple, but it really isn't.

Smell of damp earth after a thunderstorm
Smell of cut grass too
Walking along a pebble beach on a somewhat stormy day watching the waves roll in.
Watching it snow heavily at Christmas (it doesn't do it enough in the UK that it's commonplace)

The glorious glossiness of a fresh horse chestnut conker as it peeks out of its shell. Within minutes, it dulls down to blandness.

Hugging my Mum

Sharing/teaching something I love or enjoy with someone else.

Tee hee! Perhaps once we all get our iSights and Tiger working, we can all try multiway chatting and you'd get to hear us. ;) I wonder what you mean by a British accent though. It would be interesting to see if your favourites matched the ones that the UK public generally vote as being most trustworthy, most pleasant, least pleasant which are often based on prejudices.

You guys.......ahhhhh...the trite answer, I couldn't resist :)

My fiance's smile
My cat Chewy when she gambols for my attention
The sea
The smell after it rains
The look on someone's face when you give them an unexpected gift

By the way, on the accents front - we don't all sound like Hugh Grant you know. We do all live in castles though :)

Watching anyone of my three girls giggle as they get excited from learning or doing something new. I bust a big smile everytime.

Making a perfect approach and landing in god awful weather.

realizing a mistake in the checkbook that is in my favor!

Watching my wife sing.

falling asleep with my family, when we are one big pile on our bed.

Watching the grass I planted (major yard overhaul) actually come up.

Having my team win the championship. Go Tarheels.

Watching anyone who deserves it get recognition (said before but very true).

Random hugs and kisses from and to my daughters.

Finding out I don't owe MORE taxes.

A million other very little tiny insignificant things that are so cool.

Well in the theme of my username - money! And lots of it! ;)

On a less materialistic note; I love personal achievement such as running a PB for the 100m or something.

And being done with Finals today. Together, it's going to be one of the best days of my life. I get to enjoy Tiger in the evenings after 8-5 with a moving crew each day next week, my only week off before my summer classes begin. But if I'm to graduate in four years, it's got to happen.
