Lets face it low light quality in darker conditions is poor to say the least compared to the pixel 3 and now P30 pro. Rumours are that apple will be bringing out a version of their own and rumours this week saying that low light in dark conditions will improve.

Even the note 10 plus has their own verison of night sight.

This will be a deal breaker for me to get improved photos in this area. No reason why the iphone 11 can’t make groundbreaking improvements with the cameras.

Cool story. I guess Apple should listen to you or else they might lose a sale. Still, this is a bit late in the game to be making demands on iPhone 11. That design was probably completed many months ago. Maybe Apple can respond to your demands for iPhone 12.

What are you even talking about? where did I say apple would lose a sale? you are coming off defensive for no reason. Don't like the topic don't waste time by replying

What has design got to do with camera quality?

this is not my demand...this should be the demand for the market.

Apple Are behind on low light quality and to be on par with the comp they need a night sight mode of their own. Rumours are it will be coming and it needs to.

This is a forum if you hadn’t noticed where you DISCUSS what is coming and what phones need to have and where companies like apple needs to improve.

I don't know... I saw a bunch of comparison photos and the night sight ones looked like crap. It was like, they were shoot in bright daylight, no atmosphere whatsoever.
I think Apple should work on the low light capabilities, to capture a night scene like we see it and not making a sunny day out of it.

The Note 10 has a night mode but it is a joke compared to the Pixel 3 and P30 Pro.
I hope Apple catch up with Google. Last year they were supposed to improve low light and the improvement was not impressive.

I think it will have and be quite good. Also camera sensors are pretty big in size, judging by appearence, which translates in very good quality. But I think Pixel 4 will be better.

And the pixel is a joke compared to the note in terms of video recording.

The good thing about the note is you can just download the pixel camera onto your phone. Now you have the best of both worlds.

Not sure what you’re getting at. The iPhone takes excellent pictures in the dark.

Just tonight I was at the airport and I wanted to take a picture of a particularly pretty 777.

The end result is really a work of art. This was on my XR.

Let me repeat myself, you can just download the pixel camera onto the note and use it if you like it better. I know it's hard for iPhone users to grasp the concept of being able to use whatever app you want.

I want out of the box good camera experience and I rarely make videos. I tried gcam monthes ago before getting a Pixel 3. It was a pain to get the right version on my S9. And then it ended up crashing at each launch. So this is not a good solution. I ended up returning the Note 10. I did not even tried it on the Note 10. I get a a decent Android experience and good camera experience with the P30 Pro. Which I did not get with the Note 10. I got a great Android experience and a poor camera experience.

I hope the iPhone 2019 catches up. So I don’t need to have my P30 Pro to get decent night shots. This would make me upgrade this year.

Search for gcam

It’s hardly a work of art. It’s all out of focus and a blurry mess!

I agree. How could someone really prefer the Androids night modes vs the iPhone when it comes to night shots? I mean look at the example below, it is like the Huawei was shot in the day.

If you want to crap all over apple's inferior software, a pic with the focus being in front will do it. Apple doesn't have night mode. Period. Billion dollar company who's last again.

Lol. It has got to be sarcasm.

Taking pictures of objects and scenery at night is bad enough with the iPhone. People is even worse. It comes out looks like an oil painting done by someone who can't paint. Don't even get me started on if the person (in this case...my child) has the audacity to not hold perfectly still. It's over.

I too would welcome improved low light capabilities with the new iPhones. I have an infant that normally does her cutest stuff when she is in her bassinet at night or early morning. I want more usable photos to share with family.

Look at the pixel, its like it was taken in the day. The iphone is so much more true to life. I would much rather the iPhone pic where I cant see anything, just black blobs.

Anyhow, I am confident Apple will introduce a night mode and will be pretty much on par with the androids. Of course we will have people here saying Apple introduced night mode first and android manufacturers copied or android versions are half baked and Apple perfected it.

Is Night Sight still done on servers or is it done right on the phone?

Huh? Weren't you talking about night sight mode on the Pixel 3?

Low light photos have always been troublesome for the iPhone. The software enhancements have drastically changed what you can obtain now with a smart phone. I hope Apple can expand beyond just what this third camera can produce, but with the aid of software to ‘enhance’ the photo where it’s on par with the competition.
