So Clinton has had a disastrous weekend and is still 2-3 points ahead. Wow.

The Trumpets relationship to the polls is fickle. A few weeks ago, the polls were wrong. Now, they suddenly trust the polls.

The current data shows a tightening race, well within the margin of error for most polls. But, two things: these are national polls, which are less precise; and polls only show us a point in time (though as get closer to November, this changes).

The debates could hurt or hurt either candidate—Trump's likely to say something stupid, Clinton might turn off voters by lawyering her way through an answer—and thus, we might see some big shifts.

And, we don't know what other nonsense is coming this way—Trump's got a mansion of skeletons and Wikileaks is out for Clinton's blood.

That said, Trump's path to victory is narrow.

And has only spent 10x more than Trump to achieve that margin? That's not a good sign.

She's going to have to start getting out and campaigning. If she has the endurance to be President let's see her start crisscrossing the country and campaigning hard like every other candidate has in the past. She can't just ride it out at her house and hope she's ahead on Election Day.

Someone has way too much time on their hands. You better hope things keep trending that way Bobby else I fear that you will be the one imploding in a horrible Karl Rove moment.

I don't really trust polls, but just for the sake of conversation. It would be bad for HRC because she clearly leads a few states (NY, CA, WA) by a wide margin. That would skew a national poll towards her. However that could mean that she is winning in less states, that is she has less great electors on her side.
Trump is not clearly winning in any populous state, even in red TX he's ahead of just a few points.

In any case, at this point no poll is reliable, and anything could happen. After the first debate we will have a much better idea.

Yeah but if we consider polls are biased liberal propaganda and we re-evaluate..

    Hillary Ahead = its close
    Tied = Trump is ahead
Trump Ahead = landslide for Trump

We are almost in phase 3.

Heck, when HUFFINGTON POST makes a piece on how Trump will win, after how ridiculous and biased they are, you KNOW its a blowout.

I wouldn't go by the polls this year (just look at brexit). Next week the polls will come out and Hillary will probably be ahead again. It will be down to the wire and you will have to wait until after election day to find out who wins.

    Fox still shows her winning.

But hey, worst case scenario is she loses, we elect a lying conman to office that bankrupts our country the way he bankrupted some of his companies, and we end up in a protracted war over someone flipping the bird to Donald or some tweet he didn't like. Well, I guess he could get us all nuked too, but that's probably an outside chance. Driving up the deficit even more and financially ruining the country is the more likely scenario.

Also bad social things. Kids will now think it's perfectly acceptable to talk about punching people, cuss people out, bully people, lie, con people and mock the disabled. What a great new generation of people we will be raising. Ugly Americans? The world has seen nothing yet.

You have no idea how the polls are. They could be bias anti-Trump. But traditionally in the US the polls have been fairly accurate.

Brexit polling was fine and predicted the outcome. It's been 50-50 in polling for years, and within 2 points that's what we got.

And trump has states he does very well in too.
