About half brightness

When I tilt the top towards me the bottom discolors. Coming from 12 pro max (G9N) this is my first OLED and I’m wondering if OLED screens just suck at viewing angles or if I should return and try again.

Yes, they all do that. If you have not noticed, the bottom of the screen changes as well. I can reproduce it on my 17PM and it was the same with the 17Pro I had for about a week. G9P and G9N respectively.
I saw the bottom changing as well. The pink/red hue moves from bottom to top and reverse. I don’t think should do that.

If I’m not mistaken, this flash only happens when you switch that toggle. The screen goes to normal, regular tint after that. Just pay attention to it.

when I swipe between the camera and some app the brightness pulses like this look at the second video. The first video it's pulses after reels or stories or hdr content. look at the bottom of the screen iph 16pm ios 26.1 RC i'm really worrying about it/ HEEELLP is it normal or not? You've created posts on this issue in 4 threads now, sorry that nobody can give you any more guidance on this issue. You really should post comments on Apple's own support forums and check there.

Has anyone noticed that viewing HDR content (like the photo app) fixes screen uniformity issues? unfortunately it reverts back to normal after a couple seconds.

It takes around 10 second to revers to normal yes? Look please
And can you do the same test with camera and swipe I suppose it’s due to green tint, this issue. Also I open my profile in instagram and there is a hdr photo in my profile and when I tap to my profile it’s going to normal tint

It doesn’t go to normal, it stays like that. The only time when it’s not visible is when brightness is high or outside.

My GVC doesn’t do that. So, it might be normal on Samsung panels, but not LGs. At least, it’s not happening on mine.
This kind of tonal shift was happening when PWM switch was used on two iPhone Air GVC panels where I've tried it. It's more pronounced with the lower screen brightness, and to me the difference wasn't as noticeable as that video shows, but I can't be sure if the camera is exaggerating the issue or what brightness level is used in the video. I kind of liked it better in terms of tone when that switch was on, because to my eye, all the Air GVC panels I've seen had a slight green push even when viewed head-on, but again the tonal difference with this switch was only really noticeable at lower brightness levels.

I can confirm that I do not have this issue on my 17PM with GVC display, either. In the video shared, there is clearly some non uniformity forming.

Just to be sure, I reduced the brightness under 10 percent and tested one last time and I am very confident that no tonal changes occur on my GVC display with PWM toggle. Mine flashes and goes back to how it was before right away in the same brightness & tone equally on the entire display.

This display is amazingly uniform and clean no matter what I have tried so far. Honestly this is one of the best displays I have ever had in many iPhone generations that I have owned so far. I must be another lucky GVC owner myself, at least with the unit that I have.

Isn't the PWM switch basically just automating the manual steps one previously had to take to reduce the whitepoint in the accessibility settings? Or did Apple actually do something else in their software to minimize pwm?

Yes, I mentioned a few pages back that this year LGs seem to be better factory calibrated than Samsungs in terms of color. That’s my opinion as someone obsessed with calibrating the two OLED TVs I own. One of them, by the way, is a Samsung. It’s a QD-OLED, so a different animal, but I’m very happy with it after making the appropriate adjustments. The other is an LG, which I’m also very satisfied with once properly calibrated.

It doesn’t matter that Apple imposes certain calibration guidelines on manufacturers, there will always be differences between them.
Yes, thats what I'm mean.
Under factory calibration, LG’s colors are more accurate, while Samsung’s colors appear more yellow compared to the original image.

Like this? idk i haven't seen this before.I noticed this by accident after updating on iOS 26 because it suddenly became very sharp. When I get a notification about 20% battery left or on the flashlight, it also brightens up and then gradually returns to that state. Sometimes it doesn't change until I tap the screen. Maybe it's software?
