I have received alerts from Fox News and USA Today reporting multiple officers have been shot. Hopefully, they will recover fully and the perpetrator is caught quickly and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

There are criminals, i.e. bad people, and then there is cause and effect, where people under pressure, right or wrong, feel the need to strike back. Which will this be, maybe some of both.

The perpetrator will probably be seen as honorable and noble as OJ Simpson and also how all the cops are Jews and anti-black and racist too, no doubt.

It'd be nice if we all treated one another as Americans and the same, as opposed to "___-American" this and that, which is what the conservatives of today (surely not the same people as the liberals of the 1970s since they wanted to get rid of the name-based-segregating as well) actually wanted. But that's only part of the problem. Self-worth, self-respect, respecting others, earning one's keep, keep existing so one can earn one's own as opposed to automating or removing it via other means... so many problems... but everyone has freedom but they don't see it. Or how freedom doesn't live in a vacuum.

On edit, addition: But, wait, we've been "post-racial" for years let the media and everyone else still does the "___-American" routine. When does it become real instead of nominal, what work has to be done to progress as a nation?

If that's what people choose and want. Do you want it? Why or why not? How can you change things for the better? Will you change things for the better? Why or why not?

If you are serious, I'm sorry but that's overblown BS rhetoric. :) No one considers OJ to be honorable.

The problem is too big for any one person to solve. It's not going to get better, either. With our national dialog now all happening over Facebook/Twitter/etc, the nastiness and incivility just continues to increase. The internet and social media has created a downward spiral. Just watch how this thread will devolve over the next few days into partisanship and finger pointing.

My heartfelt concerns go out to the men and women working the scene.

I understand there are seven cops down, three dead. One shooter is down; possible second or more shooters involved.

Hillary has proven evidence is irrelevant... Hussein has made his position on the police quite clear... those he supports are now taking action.

Whenever Trump wins the election in November, Hillary, Obama, and the DNC will only have themselves to thank. The average American will only take so much after all. The resulting Schadenfreude will be delicious.

What about Saddam Hussein? Surely he's made his opinion clear on the US police despite being long dead.

Saddam Hussein is dead, as you said, so he'll definitely vote Democrat this election and be anti-police.

As if we would get screwed any less under Hillary.

As usual, no leadership from Obama on this issue. If he was a true leader, he would speak to the country during prime-time tonight and address this issue head on and disavow and discredit Black Lives Matter. They are responsible for this. They are following ISIS' playbook: incite lone wolves to violence. But Obama is more concerned about being politically correct so he won't dare name those responsible much in the same way he won't dare mention that radical Islam is to blame for a lot of the recent violence. He'll stick his head in the sand and do nothing and the violence will continue....

More hot air from HFL. Quite likely to be saddled with a toxic legacy unlike any leader before him, he's squandered 8 years of his existence.
