Time Machine restore

So my hard drive broke suddenly, i had everything backed up about 2 hours before it happened, and i did not have my time machine disk to restore it when i installed osx 10.6, how do i do it now i clicked enter other time machines but it won't let me restore it??

should i reformat it again and try it again with the external disk if so how do i do that?? and if not then how do i do that?

(ibought an open box macbook when i bought it so i do not have the restore disks)

just boot from the 10.6 install disk, then select restore from external disk, and select the time machine, and the computer will do the rest

i remembered on the install it said you can use migration assistant to do the same thing >_<
