HELP. Im pretty computer literate but far from an expert. Ive always been more comfortable using PC's before I finally purchased my MBP a few years ago. Since then ive compensated for my PC addiction by using VM Fusion. Unfortunately, disaster has struck recently and my hard drive has become corrupted. I dont know how and i really dont care, i just want to get things up and running again. However, i made the mistake of never running Time Machine. Yes i know stupid mistake which ive read through many forums others have made the same mistake. Lesson learned - however I still want to back my things up before i complete a full reformat. I know i can do this by using the Disk Utility > Hard Drive Restore. What i would like to know before i proceed in doing this though is, is there anyway i can still run Time Machine to make my life easier when restoring - or do i have to settle with the old fashion way of copy and pasting my hard drive onto an external? Do either methods have operate the same way? How efficient is the old Hard Drive restore method?
