So for those who are against the so called wtc mosque which is not really in WTC how come no one is protesting the Pentagons Muslim mass center

    http://factcheck.org/2010/08/no-pentagon-mosque/

I'm really suprise no one brings this up in debate for the people who are against the wtc one.

I changed that glaring "error of omission". (And some other corrections.) :p

Now I know they don't work 24 hours straight, but how do they get to pray 5 times a day, on your dime.

It's been mentioned. Along with the fact that George W. Bush attended a ceremony at that Pentagon mosque, accepted a Koran from an imam, and praised Islam as a religion of peace.

Can you imagine what would happen in right wingnuttia if you replaced George W. Bush with Barack H. Obama in that sentence?

People were just happy that George could hold a book.

Ah, yes. The picture on the back is flipped and on Bush's copy it has different dimensions.

But I still like the original comment about it and the fact that the book's title suggests: 'Amen'.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but I think we have those thousand words somewhere

Don't let the truth get in the way of a good smear.

Yeah I assumed everyone knew that already, sort of like they would know he was capable of holding a book also, despite a poster asserting that he had difficulty with that. A smear no one seemed upset by. Oh well.

I'm pretty sure Dubya knows how to hold a book, not exactly a resume point :)

Back to the subject I support the community center because I support the first amendment. I may not like any religion but the government not being allowed to take sides is what keeps our government from being a thoracic one. I do not ever want to see the government feel its OK for them to support one religion and not another.

The entire Mosque was a non-issue until Fox news got involved. Hell it was supported by many conservatives in the area. But then Fox news got involved put a crappy headline on it.
After that the other media pick it up and continued with that same BS headline and continued to make an issue out of it.

So I am not blaming Fox news so much but the entire media as a whole. CNN, MSNBS, ABC, Fox ect are all just as guilty of pushing the same BS crap and running the same crappy headlines making an issue out of nothing.

I am going to say this entire issue is 100% the media's fault.

Also, there are already Mosques "near Ground Zero."

This is such an irrelevant issue. If they're not breaking any zoning laws, then they can build it wherever they want.

Silly season. Storm in a tea cup. Bet you this will not be an issue in a month's time... because people will have moved onto something else like Obama's taste in mustard.

    This smacks of Schiavo hysteria.

I accept they have a right to build their Mosque wherever anyone else may build a religious facility, I think it is in bad taste and that too many of their backers see it as something else. As such, why should we begrudge those Americans who see it the same way?

"Bad taste" appears to be the new way to oppose something without making an argument.

yep. All it proves to me is the media is crap and does not care about the truth. They just want people to watch it even if what they put out is just short of a complete lie.

I think that too many of the backers of the Confederate flag see their flag as something other than what they claim it is. As such, why should we begrudge those American who see it the same way?

For the past two weeks or so, all I've been hearing about is this stinkin' mosque. And it's stupid, because it's a done deal. It's approved. Get the **** over it already.

Yes, I blame the media, but if Fox was the one to bring it up (and wow, isn't that a surprise!) then I think they are the first among equals for accepting the blame. The other networks are idiots for going along with it and letting Fox dictate their coverage.

Or the "war on Christmas". Or "socialism". Or "death panels". Or "activist" judges. Or any of the other endless supply of trumped-up "issues" that Republicans use to distract us from their failures.

I sort of believed for a few seconds that Bush WAS capable of doing that... :p
