Eric Cantor, et al, are now attempting to remove the box under your name on the tax return that lets you choose whether to donate three dollars to the presidential campaign fund.

    Does this even matter?

It doesn't matter to me. Which campaign does it even go to? Since I never knew, I never checked it. Really, at the end of the day with the thousands that I have to give back, I see no point in making it worse on me.

It is supposed to provide public financing for the presidential campaigns. And it has no actual effect on what your tax liability will be. In fact, it is really the only opportunity you have to directly choose where your taxes will go.
