You heard it here first, folks. There will not be a single mention that ISIS (i.e. radical Islam) declared open warfare on gays and lesbians and they are responsible for Orlando. It's going to an anti-NRA, anti-gun, pro-LGBT circle jerk the entire night. No doubt with plenty of Trump jokes thrown in for good measure. Crazy Joe Biden may even make a surprise appearance.

Despite all that I'm going to watch. What can I say? I like the theatre.

To try and move this thread on topic, it was a great show. The Hamiltonies. Eleven awards. They couldn't win them all since they were competing with themselves in a few categories.

The sonnet Lin Manuel Miranda wrote for his wife brought tears to my eyes. This is what every woman wants. What an incredibly romantic gesture.

I was happy to see Leslie Odom win the best actor award. The Burr character was deep, and he was brilliant.

The nominees in the best actor for a play were amazing. I don't know anyone was able to make a decision amongst such a group of talented, established, and gorgeous men.

I found the bits done outside a little cheesy, but overall I was very happy.

Fantastic show, although with Hamilton there was little suspense. Although all those little kids in "School of Rock," I wondered how do they have normal lives? A Broadway schedule is much more punishing than a movie making schedule.

I feel personally attacked all the time on this board. Every time someone wants to blame all liberals for something. You have also launched a lot of attacks my way as well. The difference is, I don't cry about it.

Lol @ this sub-forum. If I made a post about bunny rabbits it would immediately turn into a discussion about how liberals are responsible for ISIS killing all the bunny rabbits.

Anyway, yeah, I watched some of the Tony's. I expected Hamilton to win freakin' everything--I mean, none of the other musicals really approached it in quality. Hamilton at least felt like something new.

And it's funny how it was the complete opposite of the Oscars too. So many black nominees and winners...

So at what point did last night's Tony Awards become an anti-NRA, anti-gun, pro-LGBT circle jerk? I didn't watch it, but from what I've read, a couple of cheap shots at Trump's expense was about as political as it got.

No, it was pretty good. The usual Trump shots and they refused to carry the muskets in the Hamilton bits so you had silly awkward poses like this but all in all it was a great show. Far superior to the Oscars.

Envying? Wow. You give yourself waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much credit. Let's get something clear right now: I envy no one. Not here. Not anywhere. No one on the planet. I'm quite happy with my life. Clear? Good.

I think the only type of person who would even bring up such a thing must have some issues of their own. Maybe you envy some others, but that's your issue, not mine.

Nope. Not at all. But I will refute things when someone says something stupid about me.

I really wish some of the troll types on this board would actually get to know people instead of assuming things. I'm actually not envious of anyone. I'm sorry that you guys are. Good luck with that problem.

Ok. It's just that your comment about the "circle jerk" sure sounded like you were upset about not getting an invitation.

LOL, no. I'm not even envious of people getting more than me. If they can get some and have a good time, more power to them.
