On my old mac i have a big photosand music library on an external ssd.

I use iCloud photos and music.
Can I move everything ELSE on my mac to a new macbook air, with the transfer tool, EXCEPT music and photos, which I want to access from icloud?

If you're accessing those from iCloud on the old Mac, transfer will "just work"

Devices on external also "just work" once you plug that external into the new Mac.

I access them from the external currently; my actual Photos library is located on the external SSD.

What would I need to select in order to have the SSD just work?

Is it possible to change it so I access it from the cloud on the new device initially? I think I want to avoid carrying around the SSD even tho it is fairly portable
