I have deleted my user from our Macbook Air as I am giving it to my hubbie to cure his pc-itus. Sadly the Air still wants to use my user to login to what is now his machine.

I put it my password, the computer tries to download my user (now deleted) and then allows me to type his name and password. After this step all is well but I don't want him to have to put in MY OLD PASSWORD every time he uses his computer.

How do I delete myself once and for all from the Air?

Go into the Security & Privacy Control panel, click on it and choose the General Option. The first option in there is "Change Password..."

Ordinarily what you would do is from your old (existing) account you would make hubby a new admin account. Then login to that account and from there delete your old account. Is that the process you followed?

This would all be done from the Users & Groups pane in System Preferences.

Do you happen to have FileVault encryption turned on?
