Well, this is slightly different. Trump has decided to go after China for human rights violations, in addition to his trade war. While I laud the sentiment, I'd like to hear what our intel people have to say about it. Surely they know what's going on with these Muslim internees. We've certainly heard enough tales from people who were released. I'd really like to hear Trump's motivation on this one. Given his history I'm having a hard time seeing him being supportive of this minority group. Cui Bono?

Not only Muslims, the CCP has been demolishing churches and confiscating bibles as well...

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ch...heartland-opens-window-fight-Chinas-soul.html

China demolishes hundreds of churches and confiscates Bibles during a crackdown on Christianity
    • Locals in Henan stated concerns of a move by the atheist ruling Community Party to control Christianity
    • Residents were asked to replace posters of the cross and Jesus Christ with portraits of President Xi Jinping
    • Experts say the government is waging the most severe systematic suppression of the religion since 1982
    • Chinese leaders have 'always been suspicious of the political threat' that Christianity poses to the regime

I don't think anybody needs to take moral guidance from the daily fail.

In all honesty that Communist Atheist Xi JinPing pretty much does not like any religion regardless of what it is. One of the things I don’t like about him is how he has zero religious beliefs and aside from that being the communist and atheist he is, he does not like for anyone to pretty much not practice or believe in any religion. I would hate to be in his position on Judgement Day. Hell awaits that guy..

To be fair, I've seen essentially the same story from reputable news sources today. The really sad thing for both groups is that these actions are in direct violation of China's constitution, which guarantees freedom of religion. Of course, you have to rely on Communists to uphold it, so there's not much of a chance for you. I am kind of concerned about China's response to any sanctions in regards to the Uighur situation. They deny it, but they know that the rest of the world knows they're lying. Sanctions, on top of Trump's ludicrous trade war, will take us into a new arena. Trump's really the wrong person to be leading this move.

Agreed. What's scary is how they're expanding with their belt and road corridors. Bribe corrupt politicians and leaders for Chinese apartments and Casinos. Also expanding in Africa, giving them billions in investment they cannot possibly afford, then take it over when they can't pay back the loan. Same thing in Pakistan. They've made so much money off the US and the EU, and now they're using that money as a debt trap on other countries to expand. Money corrupts power.

trump administration thinking of putting sanctions on china because of internment camps.

i think china should retaliate by putting sanctions on the USA because of the internment camps and black-sites the USA has, and is holding persons seeking refugee status - let alone the over 500 orphans the USA has created and has no plan to repatriate these minors to their actual parents.

actually i wish it were Russia/Putin who sanctioned the USA for doing this.
it fits in with Putin's attempt to portray itself as more moral than the USA.

The extent of the state's sovereignty over the individual has always been a sore point.

wait.. Isn't this the same Human Rights Council that the United Stares has defunded and withdrawn from?

You have Communists Atheists in China and Communist Buddhists in Myanmar. Normally normally there is nothing wrong with Chinese and Buddhists (both China and Myanmar) but when you add communists and extremists to both then you got a problem cooking.

This is back in the news again today. All I can say is that many countries have double standards and are quite hypocritical when it comes to what they tell others.
This is a good article but after reading I thought to myself since when does the US really care about Human Rights especially Trump..?
