Foreign policy veterans were floored Thursday following a bombshell report that the White House considered extraditing one of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's top enemies to get Ankara to back off the investigation into the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

NBC News reported that the White House is looking for legal ways to boot out Fethullah Gulen — an exiled Turkish cleric whom Erdogan accuses of orchestrating a failed coup against him in 2016 — in exchange for Turkey easing pressure on the Saudi government, which is responsible for Khashoggi's killing.

Gulen is a legal US resident and a green card holder who has been living in Pennsylvania since the late 1990s.

This is the same guy Flynn reportedly wanted to kidnap....This admin is completely off it's hinge.

Many people don't see the international ramifications of this, but this is disgusting. The analogies I could compare this to are too disgusting to post here. This is WWII hindsight stuff playing out in real time.

Yes, we have quite a corrupt administration in power today. Why though did this not get posted under the Kashoggi thread. It is part of the case. Saudi is pressuring the US to give Turkey what they want to get off their case about Kashoggi. Give us this guy and will ease off on the pressure of the Saudi Killing. WTF..? How much did Trump or Kushner get for this offer..?

The Saudis seem to think the Turks would make good on this gesture. They're sorely mistaken. The Saudis also think Americans who care will somehow forget all of the last month involving the murdered.

You missed the point of my post. Turkey gains from a weaker Saudi. Turkey's now better relations with the Russians and Iranians solidifies that theory. Turkey wants to be a regional power and wants to do everything to hurt the Saudis.
Make Turkey Great Again ;) lol..
