We have to cut for our fiscal 2019+ 700+ billion dollar defense budget, gotta cut from somewhere. MIC takes priority.
Those handouts to the wealthy aren’t going to pay for themselves.
We do need to do something to get college costs under control, but this isn’t the way to do it.
Personally I would lean towards the government choosing a max level of debt that it is acceptable for students to graduate with, and ban schools where the average debt load for graduates is above that from receiving either federal grant dollars or any other federal dollars.
As long as there are student loans and the “you have to go to college no matter what” mindset it will be tough to get costs down. I do agree, though, that college costs are getting crazy.
