In 1981, after Republicans intimidated minority voters so they wouldn't vote, the SCOTUS placed the RNC under a consent decree. The decree was due to be lifted next year. However, with Trumps recent encouraging Republicans to go to minority neighborhoods and intimidate minorities to deter them from voting means Democrats could now ask for the consent decree to be extended an additional 8 years.

How is calling for election observers a bad thing?
    Oh that's right it's not

First your quoting a Blog as if it's gospel.
Second and most importantly you're being quite disingenuous with your thread titling as even the BLOG you are quoting didn't even say it was an absolute thing.

Donald Trump May Be Violating RNC Consent Decree Aimed at Voter Intimidation

Why don't you read the SCOTUS ruling? Then come back.

From what I saw, he wasn't calling for election observers, he was calling for election vigilantes.

Why do you people make **** up like this?

If you took the time to read the source of your blog, the actual ruling, the Court ruled they are permitted to use individuals to observe elections and report irregularities (page 26). The consent decree relates to activities that are undertaken in order to deter voter fraud and where the ethnic or racial composition of a voting district is a factor in deciding to do so. Furthermore, there is no indication in the ruling about whether it applies to individuals contracted by the RNC or also those who voluntarily show up on suggestion of a candidate.

    Took me 30 seconds.

Do you have video/audio I can listen to? All I seem to find on youtube are leftists like Wesley Crusher and Pee Down his own leg Chris Matthews doing air quotes either projecting their inner feelings or following the party talking points.

Yeah, because making impassioned speeches about the vote being rigged, and calling for all Americans with concerns of such to go to the polls and do their vigilant duty obviously can't be misinterpreted in any way, or used as an excuse to do anything bad in any way whatsoever.

It's obvious everyone who may engage themselves in this will be totally and entirely responsible in the matter, so what's the big deal?

Americans with concerns can alert authorities. It's not their place to be standing over people while they vote. Voter intimidation is has been ruled unconstitutional.

That's a request to hear it in Trumps own words. Not what someone finished his sentence as. The history of the decree is meaningless in the context I requested.

what you want to hear trump saying they should do it? all it takes is a few seconds with google to find it. of course trump has no clue about this issue like most things he is clueless about.

Yet you have no problem accepting emails that Hillary didn't write or receive as gospel about what she thinks? Ok. That's totally fair.

Whatever one thinks about the consent decree or today's reference to it : The only direct SCOTUS involvement/added weight, as I understand it, was to deny a writ of certiorari, without comment, to the Republican National Committee. That appeal was raised by the RNC in response to a lower court's decision regarding a DNC lawsuit originally executed in 2008.

The original complaint and the consent decree were raised and signed, respectively, in The US District Court of New Jersey, not SCOTUS.

    EDIT to fix link.

The DNC filed a federal lawsuit related to this consent decree. Our elections are handled by secret ballots. Not by people going to execute vigilante justice.
