I keep having to remind myself that this is coming from the president of the United States. Whether you liked the policies of Reagan, Bush 41 or Bush 43 at least you can say they were decent human beings who respected the office. Trump is 180 degrees the opposite. He respects nothing. He’s human scum.

And considering the Republicans awful numbers with women I’m sure the last thing they want e weeks from Election Day is the leader of their party calling a woman he had sex with “horseface”. Good grief.

But yeah, the dude needs to have his twitter taken away and get put in social media timeout...

Apparently he has nothing on his public schedule today so I suspect there will be a lot of Fox News watching and Twitter rants. Honestly if he just shut up for the next 3 weeks Republicans could possibly prevent a blue wave. But we all know he can’t so he’ll find a way to screw it up for them. Someone should ask Melania if this falls into the category of #BeBest.

Trump has never drunk alcohol (or at least that's what he says so it may not be 'exactly' true), so he has no excuse of beer goggles.

He ****ed her, then paid her off, and now he's saying she looks like a horse! Why did he **** somebody that he thinks looks like a horse? That's just weird!

No need to call her a horse face. Trump needs to enjoy his victory and move on...

I think reasonable people can have disagreements over matters of policy. The environment, voting laws, taxes, spending, foreign policy, etc. I get that.

But it is behavior like this that just horrifies me in our President. To me, it betrays an utter lack of character, of simple common decency that I cannot abide. If the President cannot exercise the self-control and basic respect for another human being that would preclude him from going on Twitter and denigrating that person - let alone one with whom he presumably conducted an adult affair - then in what other circumstances is his self-control and common decency going to come up short.

I'm quite certain that there are people who like Trump because he "tells it like it is" or that he fights hard. But do you have to "fight hard" on everything? What is the point of this Tweet? What does it say about Donald Trump's priorities this morning, a few weeks before the mid-terms. While we are dealing with the aftermath of the Saudi killing of a journalist, while we are in the middle of a trade war with China, while millions of our fellow citizens are dealing with the effects of two massive hurricanes. That our President has nothing better to do with his time than throw shade at a pornographic actress with whom he had an extramarital affair?

Policy is policy. Reasonable people can disagree on the specifics. But character and temperament, and a basic respect for other human beings are the fundamental building blocks of leadership. And I struggle to understand how so many millions of my fellow citizens could have voted for a person so obviously lacking in all of them.

This is one reason I’m #NeverTrump. And one reason that policy gains can’t make me like him. My dislike is all about his personality, his behavior his temperament. My dislike of him is moral, not a disagreement on a specific policy. The things I dislike about him will never change, because they’re fundamental to who he is as a person and at his age they’re not likely to ever change.

It shows how far we have fallen as a country when the porn actress the president slept with and paid off to keep quiet gets her story out, including all sorts of salacious and personally humiliating information about the president, but when she finds out she cannot sue the president for defamation, it is considered a “victory” for the president.

The White House will need to be thoroughly cleansed to removed the stain of this presidency from its history. The whole Presidency used to be viewed as an office of respect and ideology but it's now the equivalant of dog poo embedded in the carpet of the Oval Office. I have talked to Trump supporters and even they are ashamed and embarrassed to be associated with this individual. The irony of all this is that with the Obamas we had a presidency which had set such a high bar for integrity and respect in the office that it would be a long time before it were matched. Yet now we've got this mess and a disgusting 'president' to boot.

As it turns out we all share like 50% DNA with a horse so Trump's "horseface" comment is considered a racial slur.

As another said - that didn't stop him from cheating on his wife with her. And I would say that if they were "intimate" then Trump saying she knows nothing about him is not remotely accurate.

ETA: Also, his tweet is misrepresenting a lot. The case was over his potential slander of Daniels. Nothing more.

The problem here, is that it wasn't a victory. Trump still has the bigger problem on his hands: he had an affair while married to his wife who had his child. Whatever happened to the conservative value of protecting the sanctity of marriage?

There are a lot of principles and values that conservatives have that flew out the window once they started to support Trump, and now have no excuse for when they are called out on their hypocrisy, such as right now.

I'll go one step further. It frustrates me when some imply or flat out state that POTUS doesn't need or have to be a role model. I disagree 100%.

Further - it's not really a victory. It's more of a loss for Daniels. She was suing him for something he tweeted. So it's more that she didn't win than he "won." He didn't initiate the lawsuit.

He does show a remarkably poor grasp of how to use English, though,

... She knows nothing about me, a total con!

he has just admitted to all of us that he himself is a con artist.

If she's a horserace, then what the heck is he? He's borderline obese (if you believe the numbers from his annual physical, which I don't, given that his doctor's letter during the campaign was a fraud), has a ridiculous comb over, an orange complexion (no doubt from sitting in front of lamps) and white rings around his eyes. It's typical mysogyny - the rich male can look like a clown but if the woman isn't perfect she gets shamed. And of course the irony is that he obviously was attracted enough to her to have the affair.

This epitomizes the ideological difference between Trump supporters and non-supporters. It's not about left/right, it's about whether you idolize an ******.

Interesting tweet from the infant President. His side won the case because the language he had used previously was perceived by the court as in keeping with normal political discourse. I am pretty sure the court would not be able to view 'horseface' as being normal political discourse if another suit was lodged against Trump. [EDIT: Just realised the magnitude of this farce. A president using a preschool insult against an adult entertainer with whom he is alleged to have committed adultery. Can POTUS get any sleazier?]

In any case, I guess 'horseface' is better than 'mushroom ****'.

Every day this reminds me more and more of a bad breakup.

He thinks she's horse-faced. Well, he poked her, so yeah, that doesn't really speak to well of him if that's what he believes.

She criticized his weight, his penis, and his overall looks - yet she still allowed him to poke her. So that speaks HUGE volumes about the kind of person she is.

The difference is, we already know the person she is, and we know he's the President of the United States. I think the average person has much higher expectations for how one of those people should conduct himself versus the other.

Will small-town, family-values, Christian conservatives in small towns be okay with including Trump's tweets, affairs, marital history, comments, interviews, etc. in their history books?

I imagine it will be something like this: "In 2016, Republicans and conservatives elected a NYC Real Estate businessman as President."

    Then they will move on.
