My hope is we will gain some ground with him being in office however this isn't a guarantee and only time will tell how good he will be for us in this area.

Things I am hoping for right away is the removal of a Bush era executive order on firearm imports and the Obama executive order banning Russian firearm imports even if Trump wants slap a tax on those imports I am okay with that.

Given Trump's promised protectionism, I doubt he'll let in new imports of anything.

I would like to see the South Korean Garands available. Although, there seems to be conflicting reports on their condition.

He only has to be good enough to choose gun friendly Supreme Court justices.

I think we should join the "social program" movement of the left on this issue. Safety is a right of all people, and therefore guns should be supplied by the government, as we all have the right to protect ourselves.

I think there are many open carry states.

    http://smartgunlaws.org/gun-laws/policy-areas/firearms-in-public-places/open-carrying/

"Thirty-one states allow the open carrying of a handgun without any license or permit, although in some cases the gun must be unloaded. Fifteen states require some form of license or permit in order to openly carry a handgun."

I see people exercising their right to open carry at times, and I don't think anything of it.

One thing I hadn't realized until now ... Trump didn't do the de rigueur photoshoot decked out in camo while awkwardly holding a shotgun that candidates seem compelled to do.

That's one point (but just one) for him.

I don't have a problem with it either. I was responding to his question regarding Trump and open carry.

I piggybacked on your post since I couldn't find MacNut's open carry comment that had been posted. Sorry, if I confused things :).

Purely rumor: It will be proposed that CHL licenses from any state will be recognized nationwide, just as drivers' licenses are now. So, come back in February. :)

Momentum is picking up for the Hearing Protection Act. Don Jr. is a big gun guy, as in he actually knows what Class 3 means.

That's what I am hoping for, reciprocity. I am an hour from jersey, while I am fully background checked (even up til today ;) ) and licensed, I become a criminal if I cross the state line.

They'll have import stamps on the barrel. Cheap but not very collectible, like Greek M1s.
