    Reap what ye have sown.

After years, nay, decades of vilification of those who do not follow their mantra and its accompanying attacks at political groups in general have caused distrust and hatred at all politicians.

Trump, Carson, Carly, and even Cruz (who is anti politician politician) are simply saying what Republicans have been saying these last few years to drum up support from the populous who feel disenfranchised and distrustful.
So now the most politically active people feel any career politician cannot be trusted so latch on candidates who's promises follow Republican dreams but are practically impossible to achieve.

SO, yes, many Republicans are living in a "Dream world", and Trump is the Dream personified.

Trump is mad. He won't get into power. Not enough people are stupid to vote for him.

If he does, it'll be civil war. But it won't happen. So don't worry. :)

Agreed, Trump is unlikely to win the presidency but his extremist views will likely persist in the minds of his supporters and then the GOP will need to recalibrate their platform even further to the right.

Cool new Trump thread. Lets just make Hilary president now and be done with it or would you rather have the senile old white guy that is going to give stuff away for free and have the rich pay for it?

The first thing you do is ask yourself "do I remember how I got here". If you can't, you're probably in a dream.

Hey Obama was against same sex marriage in 2008 and people still voted for him. Today that would be pretty *extremist view* ;)

I'd rather have the senile, old white guy. But I'll settle for the cankled, old bag in a pantsuit.

There is absolutely no way that Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee. That is my opinion.

Oh I hope he is. I want him on stage facing down his friend Hillary. I want the establishment GOP completely dismantled.

I love Trumps utter chaos inducing antics and the way it makes the GOP implode. Likewise watching chump leftist heads explode is equally amusing.

Because the one surest sign of a good leader is how much he makes everyone around him squirm uncomfortably, like a drunk, creepy uncle who gets a little too deeply within your personal space, and sings dirty limericks between diatribes about your great aunt Sheila and her black boyfriend shacking up in the nursing home.

Topic is about the Republican party, why conservatives are attracted to those like Trump, and why he has a good chance of winning.

Which is exactly why he is a creation of the Republican party!
Yes, it is bizzare, but it happened.

Only Nixon (a staunch anti-communist) could go to China (hard core communist country at time). Yes it was to pull China from Soviet influence.
    Or the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact?
Both examples of extreme political ideals get flipped during tense political times.
