Constitutional rights are for suckers anyway.
Just when you think he can't get any more unhinged. Khan was right, he's never read the Constitution.
Sharia Khan played America at the behest of the Democrats.
If the dude has dual citizenship, the government can do that.
If true that sounds like the scary part of technocrazy.
Nah, when you get your citizenship you should give up the other one. The government doesn't really care if you keep it, but it's on you. The only thing they can't do is to create a stateless individual.
Correct. It's an honor system. I chose to give up my previous citizenship through a letter to the nearest consulate.
Eh.."Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is granted to a foreign citizen or national after he or she fulfills the requirements established by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act"
So he's a US citizen, right? From my perspective saying: "I don't care, we can still send him back to where he came from because §123" sounds like a true technocrat.
I wasn't aware that the father was charged though.
Not for simply having views and without due process but don't let facts get in the way of your dreams.
I do find it ironic that Trump wants to throw out people with extreme views.
I agree that this might not be the specific case, what I was pointing out is that yes, you can be de-naturalized.

See above. I am simply saying that you CAN lose your citizenship. I am not sure of the requirements, but it's not impossible.

Ok, misinterpreted your post before as a backhanded defense of such a statement (pure media attention wh**ing by the usual suspect if you ask me).
I wonder if such a statement would have created a huge backlash say 10years ago. Freedom of speech at all cost is one of the main (clichés?) associated with the US and one I had always an enourmous internal struggle with - because I understand the reasoning but see the damage done as well (see lates Trump tweet du jour). The radicalisation of speech and thought goes a long way and once lost is hard to regain. But that is not just a symptom occuring in the US of course.
Obama sure things so.
Just because the president feels offended? Shouldn't there be actual cause for it beside hurt feelings?
President Trump needs a Safe Space. Such a delicate flower. Who would have thought?
Good thing Obama isn't the only one with dirty hands on that one, the Congressional vote was unanimous.
yes he would have to throw himself out bummer that.
Since the guy is a naturalized citizen (i.e. not a citizen by birth) - US law already has a provision to remove his citizenship: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_denaturalized_former_citizens_of_the_United_States
Now, whether this guy qualifies for this treatment is another matter.
Neither has Khan.
Good thing he's not running for President then.
True. Trump should read it and take a course in it.
they should all be in jail for treason
Nah, Trump's a very brilliant genius - he knows that can't be done - even by himself no less - since he's 100% American (and great at that too!).
Hats off, he figured it all out.
But who knows, since about every politician hates him they might pass a quick law that makes de-naturalizing due to your ancestors nationality just as possible.
*he's got nothing to do with Germany, right?! I recall Drumpf being mentioned here and there before..alas, can't say I'd be surprised..
Yes, the Drumpfs hail from Germany. Donald tried to peddle his family as Swedes for years.
