EDIT: the big baby deleted the tweets about Puerto Rican’s being lazy do nothings. Of course everyone has screenshots so he can’t pretend he never said it.

I can guarantee you none of these tweets were signed off on by Kelly or the communications office. What a petty jerk. The people in Puerto Rico are suffering. There have been problems with the response. If they need to lash out the President should let them vent at him and take it like a man even if he thinks it might not be totally fair. To whine on Twitter that they just want hands out and aren’t helping at all makes him look like a total jerk.

Trump isn't the problem anymore. Trump is narcissistic ******* and always will be. That's clear. The problem is his supporters and the GOP constantly defend his crazy and many even praise it. That's why he keeps doing it. If his base would stop eating this up, he would stop serving it.

He's not completely wrong. The feds should be there to assist, but the island should bear some responsibility for the response. The mayor of SJ is just stirring the pot and causing issues instead of managing logistics for the aid that's already in the country.

Supplies are literally sitting on the docks. You wouldn't see this in TX.

When Haiti needed help, the US sent 25,000 National Guard to help Haitians.

When Puerto Rico needed help, the US sent 5,000 National Guard to help Americans.

Why more help to foreigners than Americans?

He’s only saying this because he can’t handle any criticism. Rather than being the bigger man he throws a tantrum on Twitter.

Yeah, that's absolutely right! There's just no way the US Federal Government could get supplies to the needy, when they are blocked by all that debris. I mean, you'd need to have some way of transporting the supplies over the blocked roads. Like, I don't know, using some sort of vehicle that could fly through the sky, and drop food and water to the desperate people who need it. But that's impossible, right? The US has never been able to accomplish something like that before... ;)

The GOP base glomming on to Trump can be blamed on George W Bush. Many think he wasn’t a fighter and allowed the media to define his presidency (especially with respect to Iraq and Katrina). They love the fact that Trump fights. They don’t care if it’s counter productive or makes him look like a jerk all they care about is he gives as good as he gets.

This is what the general who ran the response to Katrina said:

    --- Post Merged, Sep 30, 2017 ---
The commander sent there said the 5K troops are not enough. Trump instead attacks the “fake news media” saying they’re taking the spirit away from soldiers and first responders.

Correct. He’s totally wrong. Usual narcissistic behavior. He’s not worried about PR, just “winning bigly”.

    He’s a mess.

Honore said the same thing about Harvey, he's throwing **** against the wall until it sticks. He's a supporter of the Sierra club as well so you can guess who he voted for.

Well if the GOP doesn't help rebuild Puerto Rico they can kiss their ass goodbye to winning Florida in the Electoral college because guess where are all these AMERICAN CITIZENS going to flee to…

Of course he’s saying that because he doesn’t want to become part of Trump’s tantrums. Even Senator Marco Rubio is saying more needs to be done. And he’s actually been on the ground in PR. Trump hasn’t. Btw the mayor of San Juan never even mentioned Trump by name. He’s just a jerk. An ******.

And Trump said neo-nazis in Charlottesville were “very fine people” but Puerto Ricans without clean water or electricity are lazy do nothings looking for handouts.

Just after Trump ripped Puerto Ricans his campaign sends out a fundraising email.

Already happening, much to the glee of the Democrats.
    --- Post Merged, Sep 30, 2017 ---
The president would cause even more logistics issues by being there early, then your lot would be complaining about that.

That he can’t handle this correctly is alarming. We’ve had Katrina, does he know anything beyond ripping people off? Jesus H. Christ, this is like comedy amateur hour.

Harvey, Irma, and now Maria. All three governor's said Trump has provided everything they asked for. If Trump denied a request or didn't fill a request promptly after being asked please provide evidence.

Dems are hoping to profit politically off of people's suffering.

Agreed. We know Trump isn’t trying to profit because he sites the death tolll as a success.

Yep, Trump's hands are tied. He can't do anything at all unless the leaders in Puerto Rico tell him to. So if they don't ask for helicopters, they don't get helicopters.

The federal government relies on the local governments to be organized to know what they need.

Besides the longest range for a helicopter wouldn't reach from the mainland

    http://www.helistart.com/top-10-longest-range-helicopters.aspx

You would need to do plane drops or ship the helis in. Both of which would be a longer logistics time.

Marco Rubio has been highlighting the logistical issue. He was one of the first to recommend the DOD take over.

It’s entirely possible the media was/is baiting Trump but he was stupid enough to take it. Even if he has a point he’s going to lose the argument because people will rightly side with those suffering, not the billionaire tweeting from the comfort of his country club. Also Trump is just reinforcing his lack of character and empathy and that he’s unable to rise above his ego and pettiness. Once again making it all about him. Contrast his response to that of Marco Rubio. It’s Rubio who’s acting like the President should be acting.

He just weathered two natural disasters in his first 9 months meanwhile instead of helping out, Democrats look for any reason to criticize him (ie. the ******** empathy responses from the left)

Stop looking for a political point and start helping. You are just as bad as Trump.

This event happened on the 21st. It's an unprecedented disaster. Give them some time to work.

Have the Republicans finished profiting financially on their suffering then?

You'd have to be more specific, Republicans aren't innocent and I don't pretend they do everything for the inherent value of doing it.

I’m not making this political. Btw, Trump got mostly high marks for the governments response to Harvey and Irma. And his numbers were trending upwards and then he decided to pick a fight with the NFL instead of continuing to act presidential.

Oh and one other thing: Trump’s twitter account is the biggest megaphone in the world. Anything he tweets is immediately picked up on by the media be it cable news or on social media. He had ample opportunity to use that megaphone to outline what was being done for PR. Instead he chose to pick a fight with the NFL and for several days he said nothing about PR. Trump and his communications team should know by now the best way to get the media to cover something is for him to tweet about it.
