Wow, the leaks are just starting to pour out now, aren't they?

The end of the call to Australia's Turnbull shows just how much Trump enjoys the role of being president:

As far as I am concerned that is enough Malcom [sic]. I have had it. I have been making these calls all day and this is the most unpleasant call all day. Putin was a pleasant call. This is ridiculous.

Disloyalty by throwing his loyal aides under the bus will only result in them getting revenge by spilling their guts.

@VulchR, wasn't it Disraeli who said, "keep your friends close and your enemies closer"?;)

Maybe staff should have packed his cardboard box before escorting him out of the White House?

No Donnie, you lost New Hampshire and you sure as hell aren't going to win it in 2020 now.

It's amazing the difference in tone and maturity between Trump and other leaders. Especially Australia. Trump sounds like a whiny teenager.

    Oof.
I got through most of it…

DJT hasn't got a diplomatic bone in his body.

    Short attention span, nothing.

    The guy's a dunce.

Trump won New Hampshire in the Republican primaries... so technically he is not lying.

In the general election, he came close to winning NH.
HC got 46.98% and DT got 46.61%
    A margin of only 0.37%

If anything this makes Trump look good. Looks like the Donald doesn't have a public and private position. Just a position. America first.

If the transcript is accurate, that is.

I think the WH staff spends more time cleaning up DT's messes, and explaining to the public and world leaders what he "Really Meant" than actually doing the will of the people.

All this "Blame it on the fake media" stuff can only go on for so long. Eventually people will come to realize who they actually elected and figure out it's not about "Getting over it", it's about "Getting past Trump".

You can get that from the transcript. You can just as easily get that he's whiny and cares more about his image than about the actual policy or issues.

Show me a politician who doesn't care about their image.
From what I've seen, that is paramount to any policy decision.
Better to be wrong and look good that right and look bad.

So, you're saying that Trump looks good here? Or that Trump is right here? Sure looks like Trump spends his time in these phone calls puffing himself up and insulting other world leaders, while at the same time demonstrating that he does not have a grasp of the facts (not even his own policies), trash-talks his own country, and really only craves for people to support him personally, not his policies.

What I got out of the exchange from Trump and Australia is that Trump didn't do his homework before the call as he has no idea what the actual arrangement was.

    President Nieto: "Mr. President,..."
    President Trump: "Okay, Enrique,..."

    SMH.

Prime Minister Turnbull: "Do you want to talk about Syria and DPRK?"
President Trump: [inaudible] "this is crazy."

    SMH ^2

    What a punk. What a low-class punk.

I'm not sure WTF is going on with all the leaks, but leaking confidential conversations between heads of state sets forth a dangerous precedent. Understand that OTHER foreign heads of state are not going to want to communicate with our leaders if they can't count on confidentiality.

The actual conversation leaks are bad and indicative of The Big Hoopla's lack of leadership skills/diplomacy/tact. The information contained in the leaks was not confidential (ex. Trump want's Mexico to pay for the wall, doesn't like NAFTA, doesn't like any deal that Obama's administration brokered).

The Aussie PM also had a 'leak' of his own, where he mocked Trump's mannerisms. Now I get the need for some tension breakers with the press but I think Mr. Turnbull pushed the limit. His response was more diplomatic in regards to this incident and called the reporting of it "a breach of faith."

While this is politically embarrassing, the main reason why these leaks are frowned upon is that you need 'closed door discussions' to speak freely about issues and to keep the hoopla down in the press that gets in the way.

I understand they didn't talk about any confidential material, but the phone call and those on the other end don't expect transcripts of the entire conversation to come out. I know it amuses those who don't like Trump, but it's not a good precedent going forward, even when Trump is out of office.
