I guess we're all going to become Hindus now
Sounds like more nitpicking. I highly doubt he'd take away freedom of religion ... although freedom of religion seems to be trampled on more these days.
No duh, he couldn't, just don't think he realizes that.
Im was also unaware we had more then one US flag.
The only God that Trump supports is the almighty dollar. I bet he'll try to get his face on all denominations.
What he's really saying is we'll all bow down to God Trump when he ascends to Washington DC>
Speaking of Hindus:
Trump's fairy tale flying spaghetti monster can suck my balls. **** religion. Religion is a cancer that should be eradicated from the earth like smallpox and polio.
Didn't take long for this hateful nonsense to enter the discussion. Good job.
And the underlying attitude is why the anti-religious don't get a good rap or, if nothing else, come across not much less extremist than Timothy McVeigh or ISIL.
I'm in agreement with the poster above with the nitpicking aspect. Obviously he is talking about uniting the Americans, not promoting a Christian conversion program. He is clearly drawing from the phrasing of the the pledge of allegiance.
To take his statement that literally then you'd also have to assume that Trump will destroy all American flags except for the "one".
And Hindus of course have multiple deities, so we're not all becoming Hindus.
It is however evidence again of Trumps inability to properly word his thoughts. Another situation of where it could have been said better.

No there literally only be one flag in the US. Maybe at the White House? Or better yet someone to carry it wherever he goes.
That would be hilarious. His ego would fly through the roof (standing in the lobby of Trump tower).

It would be easier to list the Freedoms not being trampled on.
Actually it's a bit more confusing than that. They do have many deities... millions in fact... though all these gods and goddesses, along with people and all other things, are ultimately just parts of a greater deity called Brahman.
How is "freedom of religion" being "trampled on" these days?
While there is a part of me that applauds this sentiment (in that I fervently believe that religion has no role whatsoever in the public space or in the formulation of public policy), I do think that this....er......sentiment......might have been a bit more........um,....eloquently expressed.
Let us damn the divine.......but with respect, and not with profanity.
And can we at least agree America needs to unite on some issues that affect everyone and then go on from there with tolerating what we don't agree with?
I like Zeus.
Funny, because there's way more similarities between the Christian crazies in this country and ISIS than there are between atheists and ISIS.
Unless it's Islam, because that would be racist.
Nah, Islam can go too.
Well, you live in a country (I presume) founded on religious freedom. I just want them to live and let live, keep their nose out of government, and all is good.
Let me know when "Christian Crazies" start the throwing gays off roof tops, beheadings, child brides, and slavery.
Oh but they did this 18 jabillion years ago too!!!!!!!!!omg~~theyarethesame$$$
Try a little over a hundred. Confederacy, anyone? War Between The States? Lincoln's assassination? Hint: there weren't a lot of Muslims involved in that historical embarrassment.
Yeah, there are some practitioners of Islam who need to be hit upside the head by the clue-by-four. But let's not pretend Christianity's hands are clean.
Let me rephrase that. Let me know when "Christian Crazies" start throwing gays off roofs, child brides, and slavery TODAY in the MODERN TIMES.
By the way are you going to answer my question?
Do you know this for a fact? How can we be sure?
The question you might want to ask is, why Christians' no longer do that in the MODERN TIMES.
It isn't because they all underwent a miraculous change of heart.
Congrats, christians aren't as bad as isis.
Isn't that the same defense Trump used the first time Anderson Cooper asked him if he had assaulted women?
