I suppose the one benefit of a Trump presidency is the sheer hilarity of seeing this big baby complain about how the media and Congress are being SOOO mean to him for four years straight.

You know he might have been the first president in a long time that ended up with both sides of the aisle gunning for him (figuratively speaking). He has really alienated so many Republicans on behavioral issues alone, never mind that others disagree with him on platform or distrust his ideology.

I say "might have been" because God willing we don't have to find out for sure.

That doesn't mean that the report has been completely quashed, however. You can read the report here.

Would Trump's tweets count? How does he feel about slander. Pretty sure he doesn't want to go down this road. He, himself, would be in the courts a lot more... as a defendant.

Law doesn't apply to his mightyness, his spewiness, his tinyhandedness. Bow before Trump or he will crush you with his tiny hands of justice and spit.

Our Libel laws aren't worth the paper they're written on. Numerous papers over here regularly print spurious stories, and then when they get caught out, simply print tiny retractions to cover themselves.

Our libel laws are just fine. If a story is actually libelous a written retraction doesn't settle the matter, although it may mitigate damages. If Trump truly believes the crap that comes out of his mouth then he has plenty of lawyers to assert his legal rights. The problem is that he's a bully and taking anyone to court requires actual proof, not bluster, so claiming that everything negative is "rigged" is easy because he needs no actual proof to make those claims.

He would say "No one is a bigger fan of the first ammendment than me!"

Can't advertise without the first amendment. That's what it's for. What liberals "love" about the first amendment are mostly the ancillary benefits arising out of this original purpose.

Oh god, what have I done?

Let us begin by quoting Justice Thomas.

Tell me, has Obama ever threatened to sue Fox News for libel? Has Hillary?

No, they pretty much ignore all the "mean things" that are said said about them.

Hah. The thing is, though, is you won't get Breyer into the rather dubious endeavor of reinterpreting civil liberties into a liberty of contract.

Breyer, dissenting in Sorrel v IMS Health.

Nope, such constitutional flights of fancy are best left to the "conservatives". And since Thomas is most apt to ignore precedent, he's where you would look for such "wisdom."

Fascinating and not what I expected. One can still only wonder why Thomas hardly ever asks anything in court though. Tipping his hand by some question doesn't strike his fancy I guess.

Jeffrey Toobin is pretty scathing in this recent piece.

I suppose he's not already involved in enough law suits.

Don't make a generalized Trumpet style accusation. Name some names.
