Hi
So I'm trying to fix up an ipod touch with no LCD or digitiser. Judging by the feedback when I plug headphones in, it appears to be on.

Is there any way to turn it off with only the hold switch?

Or, is it safe to plug in the new LCD/Digitiser with it powered up?

Thanks
Mike

You can not turn the device off but if you press the hold switch and put it into sleep mode the LCD\Digitizer circuit should power down.

I was thinking, maybe it's possible from a computer with it plugged in?

Anyway, if it's fine in sleep mode, I'll just try that - thanks.

As long as the screen shouldnt be on then it should be a fine installation.

Ok, for the record, installation does work perfectly while in sleep mode. Thanks for the help.
