hi,

I was wonder if anyone else experienced this. It worked fine before upgrading to 11.2.5. Streaming on cellular for Vudu, Amazon and YouTube for library content works fine. It is just iTunes and the TV app. Some movies and shows play fine but other don’t and then pop up a message that to what the show or movie I should be on WiFi.

My cellular provider is T-Mobile in the US.

Thanks in advance. :)

There’s a setting to allow mobile data usage in settings > TV > iTunes Video

Is this enabled?

Hi,
Yes, it is. I even toggled it “on” and “off” several times to see if that would help. I even toggled on-off and rebooted. No luck.

Again, some shows and movies work; the vast majority don’t.

If you go into the iTunes Store and play a preview of the movie or episode it does play a 30 second clip. But then when you try to play the movie the ITunes Store app boots you over to the TV app and it then asks for WiFi connectivity.

I am having the same issue. I’m waiting on a callback from an Apple Engineer. I purchased the complete set of Futurama, when it was on sale. Every other iTunes purchase I have(both TV shows and Movies), stream just fine over cellular. It’s just this one show. Weirdness.

Confirmed working for me via cellular.
Thanks for checking. If I may ask, did you just check one show/movie or did you check several? The reason I ask is that this problem seems in consistent. Not all movies or episodes report this warning.

Also, who is your carrier? I use T-Mobile with the Bing-On feature turned on.

Thanks again for your help.

Same for me as well. Some shows/movies play fine over cellular, no issues. Others report the WiFi needed error.

Sometimes these shows or movies are from the same box set - just bought Smallville couple of weeks ago. Some episodes play fine others don’t. Also couple of weeks ago I bought the G.I Joe movie bundle. One movie plays fine over cellular, the other gives me a WiFi warning.

I was able to watch the episodes over cellular no problem. Then today after updating to 11.2.5 I have this problem show up.
