Two Docks visible on MacBook Pro

Since getting a new (used) MacBook Pro 2018 that had already macOS 10.15 installed I seem to have two docks when shutting the computer down. The first dock "slides down" immediately after confirming to shut down, the second dock remains visible, then - after a pause - the second dock disappears when the computer finally shuts down.

Can somebody explain this to me and tell me how to get rid of one of the Docks? Or is this normal with macOS 10.15?

It seems that this behavior was introduced in 10.15.4 release.

10.15.4 Shutdown glitchy

Shutting down or restarting - the dock kind of refreshes, True Tone turns off then screen kind of hangs longer than usual. Anyone else seeing this? btw: MacBook Air 2019 with FileVault on.
