I have three Macs, and iPhone, and a iPad all using the same Apple ID. After turning on Family Sharing on ONE of the devices (the iPhone), TWO iCloud calendars called Family appeared on my Calendar app. These are two DIFFERENT calendars because if I add an event to one of them, it does NOT show up in the other one (so these aren't two instances of the same calendar). If I turn off Family Sharing, ONE of these two Family calendars disappears. The other does not.

Is there another process that creates a Family calendar other than turning on Family sharing? Or some other explanation of why I have two Family calendars?

Odd. But happens.

I had two iCloud contact lists on my Mac after an update somewhere due to iOS 8 and or Yosemite.

For this, I'd drop into iCloud web interface, see if anything there might point to where the calendar is coming from (one of the devices under someone else in the family under Family Sharing?). And even if no clues there, can delete the other calendar from there amd that should propogate to the devices.

is it possible that one is a calendar you created and the other is from other family member in your group who is sharing calendars
