So anyone with a gun is already playing cop. LOL

Also, police can't request to see your permit. How the hell can an officer figure out who's carrying illegally?

You need a weapons license to carry. Without one, you can have a gun on your own property and car with only a resident state ID.

    from your link
the first clown was not a cop, you are not obligated to present I.D to civilians, hell you don't even have to show I.D to cops if you have not commited a crime here in CA.

the police CAN REQUEST to see your permit, depending on the state , you MIGHT be required to provide it, we did not have to provide it here in CA under the open carry laws that we HAD. open carry is not legal here ANYMORE.

Simple solution, switch to Vermont style carry law and all this "show me your papers" problem would go away.

Read about 6 different sites from the phone, your OP is the only one that mentions that w/o backing it up.
    Here is the bill

From your own source of HB60. (Page 23 Line 788-789). Next time do your own research before you call other sources bias and end up posting a link that you failed to read through or understand. ;)

And BTW .... If your not being detained, you can walk away from police.

Why is the US still stuck in the Wild West when it comes to guns? I mean, they are nice and all, but why carry them around in the open like 150 years ago? Is the mindset still stuck back there?

Does it matter? If cops can't ask a suspected illegal alien for his papers shouldn't it be the same way for a gun too.:rolleyes:;)

If they're walking around with a gun, then absolutely, 100%, no, make that 1000%, to find out whether they are allowed to have that gun.

Can paper be used to kill someone from 50' away? Didn't think so.

    Of course not.

Do I feel police should have the right to ask for a weapons permit, YES. And that was not easy to answer cause police have a history of profiling.

I mean, if they can ask for your driver's license while operating a vehicle, while not be able to ask for that gun license. Strange world, but then again, it is the US of A, the current standard for some of the more idiotic things happening on this planet. Though the media has to entertain us while its corporations take more and more essential rights away.

Hearing about this sort of stuff when you've been brought up in a country where guns are largly illegal/very heavily controlled is so, so weird! Allowing anyone to own/carry an instrument that's been designed to end life if so very odd to me.

Out of interest, are the punishments for killing someone with a gun any different? Does the fact the state allows everyone and anyone to have one mean there's an argument that the murderer wasn't properly trained/of the right mind and so it's partly the fault of the state?

Illegal person enters country. Police stop and question that person but can't ask for proof of citizenship and let person go. Illegal person then proceeds to rob convent store and kills someone. ;)

    ----------

Different then what? Killing someone with a knife? No they are not. In some states you can get the death penalty for killing someone no matter what was used to do it.

Not EVERYONE can purchase a gun. You have to pass a national background check to legally purchase a gun. Then is some states you can optionally apply for an open carry or the more common concealed carry permit. Without those you can't carry a gun on your person. If you don't have that type of permit you can only transport gun in case from home to another place like a shooting range.
