Did you actually bother to read the source you cited?

So, no: Britain is not going to build a detention facility in Gibraltar or Pitcairn Island. And even if it did, prisoners held there would still be able to demand habeas corpus hearings from a High Court judge.

If you look at all the things that are legally, morally, and ethically wrong with Guantanamo Bay - then the rumored discussion of creating a segregated unit for extremist Muslim prisoners in Britain has precisely zero in common with it.

The U.K. is the country version of Samsung. The U.K. is always me too me too even when the US is making a mistake.

I just can't understand why all you tough guys are so scared of a few Guantanamo prisoners being kept in US prisons.

B....b.....but how will the armed forces indulge their homo-eroticism in a prison that doesn't allow torture?

Right, because politicians always tell the truth. Let's wait for the report in March.

You can wait all you want.

But Britain will not be setting up a secret prison on an overseas military base where the detainees are held essentially indefinitely; and with no legal or military charges ever being brought against them.

Straw man, and pretty weak at that - Irregular enemy combatants captured on the battlefield [AKA guerrillas/partisans] are not entitled to civilian due process of law, hence belong no where near a civilian prison.

Would actually be poetic justice, they'd have to be locked in protective custody to keep them from getting gang raped and killed in a civy prison - So be careful what you wish for if you really care about them so much.
