It's just as show of force in response to the N. Korean middle test. It's nothing unusual. Nothing to be concerned with at this point.

I'm sorry, our current president drops bombs on other countries whenever Fox News shows gruesome pictures. There is everything to be concerned with at this point. :(

It is part of their current deployment, which they left San Diego for in January. They just completed training with ROK last month. Presidents have been doing this with DPRK for decades.

Yes, I'm there right now.

If you don't think a world in turmoil or having Donald Trump as president is stressful, then I don't know what else to tell you.

I guess, I actually worry about real problems.

You can worry about the fake ones on my behalf.

Our current president's temperament is to escalate issues. Last time we fought in Korea we were forced to a stalemate by the Chinese and North Koreans. Given our failures in Iraq and Afghanistan against much weaker armies I wouldn't be too surprised if we lost again. At the very least if Trump responds to a missile test with a strike on North Korea we will have heavy casualties in the initial North Korean artillary barrage in response to it.

NK is a real problem. Why do you think that it is not?

They can wipe out most of Seoul before anyone has a chance to stop them if they choose. They aren't a threat to the US outside of them running the risk of pulling us into a World War if they attack our allies the South Koreans and bring the Chinese into a war along with them.

So the US missile/artillery defense is useless. Israel's Iron Dome would say otherwise.

If nothing else, they've been working furiously on constructing a nuclear-tipped ICBM. So, they could eventually be quite a problem to the US.

They are most certainly a real threat to South Korea and if they keep working on their missles they are a threat to Japan and a broader area as well. Since those countries are allies, we would tend to defend them. That could cause casualties on our side too.

I'd be interested in learning more about your world view. It sounds like you don't view other countries building up armies and saying they will use them on you as some sort of threat.

You do realize that some missles get through the Iron Dome, right? It's not 100% effective.

I view that our navy, airforce, marines, and army with all of the defense in south Korea and in the pacific would roll over north Korea like we did Kuwait in Desert Shield/Storm when we pushed Saddam's million man army back to Iraq, and also when we crushed the main army in Iraq during OIF.
